Cannot continue to a new season

I am currently running a Champions cup tournament and im trying to continue to a new season with another tournament. It says “Oops, your current league cannot continue with a new season” Can somebody help me out ?

Tournaments are not possible to continue to a new season. This is by design.

Since it's not mandatory to stay up until last round it would become way too complex to provide that functionality.
