So you are using your Android phone for your game. About your question then:
When you are at the Home page of the new league that you have created please look at your top right corner the icon that looks like 3 lines, click on it and you will open your game menu . Then scroll down your menu and click on the word Friends. So now you can see that you can create your own friend list by using the Add Friends button and also use the Recruit Friends option for your new league to get filled with your mates.
