Manager Points decreased

I had about 3500 Manager points with tottenham in gameweek 34. After a gameweek 35 with a tie with Everton, my manager points suddenly became 2600. How is this possible? Is it possible for manager points to decrease after a game?

@Zaylaa yes it is possible if after the game you go down in the league table. Like if you are on the 1st place and then you go down on the second after a loss or draw you will sure lose manager points

@bbdanbb ohhh ok now it makes sense, in fact i was in first place and after the draw i became second. Thanks for making it clear i did not know it was possible to lose points.
