Any nostalgic managers still playing OFM?
-
Just logged on for the first time in about 3 years. Can't believe how much it has changed! It's mad how addicted I was to this game from around 2008-2012, which makes it sad to see how different it is from the good old days. It's nice to see posts from some familiar faces

Thought I'd hop on here for the first time in years and wow a lot has changed.
Hope you guys are well @Deif-13 @Majstor-Matt & Gary I can't tag you
Great to see you here @Sir-Adam-C.

@tommy-timbers Why a new account and not 'revive' the old one?
And I didn't forced you to take the CM position... I invited you and you agreed on trying, you could always step down to the cheat hunter task
Nice to see you back.
Sophie @SUPERNOVA-8 is still around but way less active latelly, but once in a while she pops up to delight us with her posts.
About old OFM images.... how many of you remember names on this squad:
WOW! I remember so many of those names! blob59 was an absolute top bloke, same with cfcpaul; he's the one that recruited me onto the OFM staff team at the very beginning. Do all of those old Gamebasics staff still play the game? Apart from Tijhouse who I read has left later in this discussion.

I had many wonderful years on this game and, via the forums, made many good friends along the way, who I’m sorry I had to desert a few years ago. I’m glad to see that they are not entirely forgotten - indeed some of you are still knocking about in here!
I will always think of OFM fondly and was pleased to do my bit behind the scenes, as it were. It was largely thankless work of course with no real material reward to show for the hours we all put in (apart from the Christmas card and Doerak plush toy ) and yet I honestly do look back on my days here with a smile.
I must say how sad I was though to hear the news about Frank. Without him, none of these memories would exist. We rarely spoke (on account of Frank and Jeroen being a bit like royalty - except they actually did some work, unlike actual royalty) so our paths didn’t often cross, but when they did he was always friendly, open and grounded. I am thinking of him and his family at the moment, and how far reaching his efforts in life were, in terms of the treasured imprint this game has left on the memories of a handful of people dotted around the globe such as I. It’s a pretty cool legacy to leave. Sleep well Frank.
Gary, Matt, Albino, Ken, Paul, Adam, Diar, Xristos, Ruby - it’s great to see your names floating around albeit under unfamiliar aliases in some cases! I hope you’re all doing OK.
Take care everyone. Till the next reunion
Another great name! Ed! How are you mate? Glad to have you still visiting. How have you been? What are you up to nowadays?

This place looks totally different these days, damn!
Tom, mate. How are you?

Oh man seeing some of these names in this topic.. It makes me want to leave eveerything in life and dedicate myself to only one purpose - building a time machine!
What game thsi used to be.. oh damn.. as Dardan mentioned earlier here.. thos midnight tactic talks and plans for upcoming matches in crew battles will never be forgotten.. And I had massive luck to play against some of the greats of the game...
Big salute to everyone once again and thank you all for the memories which wont ever be lost!
p.s. Big shout out to "Dom is the best" If I'm remembering the name correctly. That fun we had playing those 8 Ball Miniclip Pool OSM leagues were amazing as well
-
Hahaha, I remember that as well! Waiting for the last second to secure your tactics and formations to get the upper hand in a match. Good times.
Another old school name...
Seeing as you brought up tactics, I remember I was going to launch a new website external to OFM where people could discuss tactics, give tips and tricks, etc. I actually still have the forum up and running but haven't done anything with it since and never really released it. TerFu, Otis the Panda and CaptMatt were actually on the team to get it set up... Memories... I've always wondered whether I should release it officially or not...

Not that old but i started playing in 2011

Man the forums used to be the only reason I played this game back in the days but now it's the opposite .... Forums are dead compared to the old times .... I used to remember there was like whole page of new topics and posts everyday before but now here you see 1 year ago last posts in 1 page ....

Glad to see some old players are still here. It's a shame how this community ended up in my opinion. You guys probably don't know me (as I don't know most of you), because OSM/OFM was never my biggest priority. I think I've been Staff here as Bug Support back in 2005 or something in here but could've been just forum moderator. I was more active on GameBasics' PlazaChallenge as Staff. After GameBasics decesion to stop it to focus on OFM, I received 3 years of free Premium and then I quit.
Some screenshots I found back from that time: https://mega.nz/#F!atQAyaiQ!da8uYCtPuHjajZj3I__Bgw

@King-Noel Yup, there was so much fun and banter back in the old days on forums... forum competitions, genius topic, clown topics only for bumping your "posts" number on profile.. there was so much variety and fun.. nowadays even when you try something new you end upo being offensive and receving bans and stuff.. experienced it on my own skin.. But oh well.. At least we have the privilege to experience it
-
@Majstor-Matt I couldn't agree more man .... OSM lost many members because they were over strict meaning the mods before ruined the chats ... Now the mods are good but the problem is that the damage has been done by those old mods and staff and now its too late ... Most active members left the forums and now here its like a graveyard.
I myself made many forum games back in the days ... Like the sheep game, voting favourite movies, Counting to 1000 etc....
Anyone remember OFM FC hosted by Iccy ... Man I miss those days ... I miss those members like Iccy, Otis, Macca, Ryan, Diar, Peter, Tom, Paul, Vishnu, Harry, Sophia (still here), Matt (still here) etc... I forgot many names haha
-
I miss so much that OFM version! Good memories, days and nights with that one.

So many names on that list it's ridiculous. I know many of them.

So good to see those old screenshots. I've got quite a few myself but I'd have to sift through my computer to find them. Or perhaps I bought them on Photobucket back in the day when it was free...
-
I do have plans to launch my forum relating to OFM/OSM tactics... It was meant to be launched years ago in the hay days of the game but it may be a cool place to chill for the nostalgic players too perhaps?
-
Tom Dolan still an emo?
Parco petyt the ultimate nice guy?
cfcpaul was the guy everyone hated.
Iccy was the kid everyone made fun of, but eventually became cool.
Sir Ross Marshall was popular but disappeared off the face of the earth In 2008. Suspected suicide.
Ed Clarke the sad boi
kickme124 the ultimate meme Lord and avatar maker. Ofm had a strong link with graphic design back in the day
Any old managesr that remember me email me at georgestreetley@hotmail.co.uk as I won't check this again
-
Anyone who knew how to make avatars was considered as the business man to go to in the game
-
Hahaha, you're not wrong @luca-pirlo.
I'm seriously considering creating a new external forum for nostalgic managers which will also be used as a community/fan site for OSM... Do you guys think I should launch it?
-
I think it would be nice

I'll get onto it then. I'll try and get it set up this month and will let everyone know.
