Arsenal are reported to have made a sensational £80m bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer.
Arsenal spent the transfer window chasing striker targets but it has been revealed why they did not spend a fortune on a world class forward.
-
@WrinkledPaulsack No Arsenal bro?
-
@mrtgll33 Wenger's most expensive player was Ozil which was for £42.5m, so I dont know if he is willing to buy a player for £80m. Although I would love to see Aubameyang playing for us. He is exactly what we need. We will win the PL surely if we can get him at January.
-
@King-Noel Cant see it mate. As much as I love Wengers style of play (probably deserves the title more than anyone) I think there's just always that lack of consistency evident in previous seasons, as well as the dreaded squad injuries that Wenger is notoriously cursed with.
-
@WrinkledPaulsack My best candidate this season Klopp
-
@WrinkledPaulsack Couldn't agree more. The injuries will start to come in from January, really hoping it wont though. If we can buy a good goal scorer on January then we will stand a chance but seeing Chelseas and Liverpools current form, I am not so sure.
-
@King-Noel lol For 80m you can get Kasper Dolberg.
-
@SIRclitjeslikker_NL Play the door Ajax
-
@mrtgll33 Klopp is a very likeable personality as a manager. Plays a style that you would pay to see for sure. After all, football surely is about entertainment first and foremost.
@King-Noel Absolutely. There was a point where I believed Karim Benzema was going to sign for Arsenal. Genuinely think that's the type of player Arsenal need to step from runners up contenders to title contenders. Also, Ozil and Koscielny are two players that need to be held on to. They'll be wanted in upcoming transfer Windows
-
@SIRclitjeslikker_NL No thanks. haha
-
@WrinkledPaulsack I hope we won't let Ozil or Sanchez go anytime.
This season is so interesting, there are so many title challengers. Man United, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal and it pains to say this but also spurs are one too.
-
@WrinkledPaulsack Definitely a lot of fun, especially the joys of goals
-
I am ruling Manchester United out. They are contenders but I think the two big money signings are vastly overrated. Theres something missing in their play. Spurs are a strong team (great defensively) but I think there will come a stage where they will go stale in front of goal.
