Europa League '16/'17

@spectraaaaa_NL said in Europa League '16/'17:
Schalke certainly won't be easy, but come on, they're the #11 of the Bundesliga. I definitely see a good chance for Ajax to make it to the semi-finals. Yesterday they could have easiliy won with 5-0/6-0. If they play like that again...
I'm happy we avoided United & Lyon. Schalke will be tough, but it's not like they are going to have it easy against Ajax.

@SIRclitjeslikker_NL It's good to see some clubs from different nations than usual. Getting a bit tired to see Spanish clubs reach (semi-)finals
-
If we speak about the strenght of clubs it's the worst Europa League (UEFA Cup) 1/4 final in the last 10 years for sure. Only 1 top club, all other are average clubs or less than that.
Yes Schalke is 11. in the Bundesliga, but Liecester is on the 16. place and they kicked out Sevilla. German mentality is a weird thing, if we speak about football, it's very hard to kick them out in 2 games. They have excellent players, after United probably the best. They don't have any ambitions in Bundesliga so they can keep all players on the bench...on the other side Ajax must play with 100% every game in the title race with Feyenoord so for me it's a big advantage for Schalke... But ofc everything can happen...Yes I saw Dolberg and Traore missed 5-6 chances and Ajax could win 5-0 easy...I expect an interesting game.
-
@MenagerBL you realize Schalke is only like 4 or 5 points of qualifying for Europa?
-
@hap-slik-weg_NL
Schalke has a wide bench, over 20 players on same level...
In 1/8 final and few last games they played without players like: Huntelar, Embolo, Max Meyer, Konoplyanka, Stambouli, Naldo, Badstuber, Uchida etc. and nobody noticed that...there wasn't any influence on their performance, so I think they can keep easy players they want in next games... -
@MenagerBL Wouldn't say that there is only one ''top club'' among the quarter-finalists, Lyon and United are pretty big clubs as well in my opinion.
And don't get your hopes up because we are playing against the cockroaches a few days before the first leg, they rarely give us any trouble in Amsterdam.
-
Must admit that I did not follow the Bundesliga at all this season. That makes it hard to estimate our chances, but I do not expect us to proceed to the semi-finals to be honest.
-
@MenagerBL Embolo, Naldo, Uchida and Coke are all injured. So they couldnt play. Also if you didnt notice a difference you might be blind i guess. They played very poorly their last 8 games ever since the injury wave kicked in.
-
@hap-slik-weg_NL
Yes I know they are injured, I want to say how much good players they have. Embolo and Huntelar would probably play in the fist 11 for Ajax, Naldo is with Howedes the best and most experienced deffender and he would play in first eleven for Ajax. Meyer and Konoplyanka too...
Yes they didn't played very well in last 5 games, but they played 3 times vs Monchengladbach (one of best german teams), they won vs Augsburg 3-0 and they lost to Bayern Munich away. I am not sure Ajax would perform better in this 5 games.Schalke is my favourite and that's my subjective opinion. I have nothing more to say.
I will contact you after the 1/4 final. Have a nice evening. -
@MenagerBL Huntelaar wont play atm anymore. Embolo maybe, Naldo/Howedes one of them wouldnt start. Meyer will prolly start and Kono too. Not just the last 5 games but also the games before that. But w/e we will see.
-
@SIRclitjeslikker_NL Genk is on a good rush, I'll be cheering for them as well, born their so I hope they made it till the semi finals, but in football, the ball is round, everything is possible

Who Is Champion?
-
Wollah, Ajax Amsterdam

-
Our only Turkish representative, Besiktas succeeds in the way of European League... TARGET STOCKHOLM !
-
I suport Bayern München, and they play in Champions League, but I think Manchester United or Olimpique Lyonnaise will win the Europe League this year
-
@xLeadeRJacK i agree you we trust Besiktas in europe
