A 3rd European Competition?

Apparently UEFA has announced there will be another club competition, in addition to the Champions League and the Europa League.

I think it might not be a bad idea. Years back there used to be 3 European Cups as well.
Ofcourse in these times the only reason UEFA does this is money, and that's what concerns me.
I heard they want to play these matches on a thursday at 16h15, that's just ridiculous.
The stadiums in EL can't be filled allready.

I'm sure they'll hold that in mind, players won't have to play twice within 3/4 days, which is quite normal

Jeez, so many competitions! Feels different from what Football used to be!

To be fair until the late 80's there used to be 3 European competitions as well.

Europacup I for the national champions,
Europacup II for the national cup winners
and Europacup III for the 2nds, 3rds and sometimes 4ths from the national leagues.

Looks like a nice format to me.
