Fantastic performance by Hungary, specially by their goalie Mikler, and the actual Olympic champion Denmark is out

Sensation!
I think that it was our best game in the last two years.
Finally we had a good goalie, Mikler saved like in Veszprém, we had Nagy, who helped with being there, Jamali played also well, i can´t name a player who played bad.
Next game against Norway, maybe we can play as good against another Scandinavien team.

Oh well, attacking wise this wasnt a grat game, but at least our defense did good job and we are in quarterfinals. Against Spain, if we want any chances, our attack will must be much much better. Lets go Croatia!!

i don't see a sensations here, really. Germany and Denmark are fantastic teams and can beat any team for 10 goals on the good day; but lets be honest- Qatar bought/selected very interesting team and i mean, they really are a team! Good spirit, motive... Hungary also, I dont know what sensation are you talking about! They have incredible hardworking players in last 20 years (didn't follow that sport before), Pick&Fotex who are big handball names in Europe and few individuals who can make difference (as we could saw yesterday Lekai, former player in the club not far from me, Celje).
Quarters:
I think its not very easy to predict anything; lets say France from pair one. Best team in last 10 years, host team of a tournament... Slovenia & Qatar is gonna be a great battle. What I am scared about my nation, are fight abilities. In some part of a game, team must fight literally and not just play technical and nice looking handball.
Choatia from pair 3, I hope so. Nothing against Spain, they played fantastic against Slovenia in a group stage but I always find a favourite team in ex-Yugoslavia nations.
Norway-Hungary; I hope Hungary but again, couldnt recognize a favourite team in this pair. -

@vince13carter Of course there are many teams playing good handball nowadays, there are plenty of styles teams an adjust to, but let's be realistic, in last 5 or so years there are some teams that are slightly above others. And those teams are Denmark, France and Spain and they are always main candidates for medals and of course its always surprising to see them out early. Denmark was brilliant in group stage and was trashing everyone easilly while Hungary lost 3 games in group and of course Denmark was big favourite to win that one. Surelly a surprise. Qatar hasnt played great in this tournament so far as well, whie Germany was brilliant and Germany was only team that won 2 medals in 2016 on big competitions (Gold at Euro and Bronze at Rio), also Qatar doesnt have all those "bought" players anymore, many of those left only Capote and 2 or 3 more are left

@Majstor-Matt yes, I agree. Suprises yes, sensations- no. Sensation wuild be, I dont know... if Chile or Angola would do that, what Hungary and Qatar made it. See the difference?

@vince13carter Sure, I get what you are saying. I didnt said that results individually were sensations though, I said that day has sensational results - as both Olympic and European champions were knocked early on the same day
Same thing for our game with Spain. It wont be sensation, but if we win it will be a little surprise, as from everything we saw in tournament so far I must be realistic and admit that Spain is firm favourite in our match.

Yes, I think also, Spain is favourite "on the paper", like France. For now, couldnt recognize team who would dominate in every game. Also Spain had big problems with rising handball nation Brasil and fact what happened to Denmark and Germany. Its very difficult to have perfect tournament; match in two days in average (sometimes two games in a row) , injuries and fact some nations dont have 14 but 8-9 players on highest level.
But on a good day, Croatia can beat anyone, mate. You know that well and I know. You have quality, talent and motive. There's a fantastic spirit and will to give 100% in a national shirt, which is perhaps Croatian biggest thing in every team sport. Just love this attitude. -
Norway is the first semifinalist! First semifinal of their history, congratz! 2 more hours and batle between Croatia and Spain starts and the winner of that match will paly Norway in semis! Lets go CROATIA!!!

Like I predicted good, Croatia can beat anyone and they did! Its in your blood and even though I didn't watch your game vs. Spain (it was at the same time as Qatar-Slovenia), I am sure it was deserved and better team got far in the semifinal.I am not sure what chances do we have against France but I would say- small. They are the best team of decade, home team, but Slovenia won't surrender just like that! We live for big moments, there're not many in our team sports and thats why I pray for equal 50minutes- and then everything is possible in last minutes.
Croatia - Norway; well done guys, both of you! i am for Croatia but it could be another close one game.
