Improving your privacy through GDPRIt’s probably not the first time you are hearing about the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). This European law is all about improving the privacy of European citizens and citizens that are interacting with European companies. The law will come into force on May 25, 2018. As European citizens and a European company, in order to become GDPR compliant, we updated our privacy policy.
What will change?
There will be two changes for you as an OSM player:-
You will get a new pop-up when you open OSM on or after May 25th. Through this pop-up, we will ask you to agree to the fact that we use some of your information to improve your game experience. To make sure your privacy is safe, you have to accept this in order to play OSM.
-
You will get a second pop-up that will ask you to accept personalized advertisements. From May 25th on, this will be triggered after three days of playing or visiting the Business Club.
What’s in it for you?
That you’re sharing personal information with Gamebasics will be formally confirmed. We already felt the obligation to treat this information with care and respect. This is now legally underlined. Why do we need this information?
We use some personal data to offer you the best gaming experience possible. For example, we use your ip address to group you with players from your region. Also we use your device id to send you the right messages and detect cheaters. Additionally, OSM is a free game and we rely on advertisements. We want to keep it this way and you accepting personalized ads that might interest you would help with that. If you don’t accept we are forced to show you unpersonalized ads. Will this influence my OSM game experience?
No. Basically, all you have to do is to click through two pop-ups.Questions?
If you have additional questions, feel free to contact us at info@gamebasics.nl. Cheers to an even more privacy safe OSM experience! -
