Manager resigned from private league help

I am the moderator of a private league where 6 of us play. We decided this time to only pick 13th rated teams or lower but some fool chose a top team. Realising this he resigned prematurely and now I don't know how to let him back in. Tried the invite but just gives an Oops you've resigned message. What options do I have? Do I have to get everyone to resign and start a new league or is there an easier way?

There is not a easier way then that everybody resign and then start a new league, because when someone resigned they are not able to get back in the same league again.
