League Updates
-
Now that the topic is on the correct place...
While we agree that these leagues are interesting for community events/competitions, we also don't want to banalise them and have tons of this type of leagues.
So, adding more leagues is not something on our plans in short term.
What we can do, and this will depend on the reactions from community, is to agree on a schedule with you guys and make some kind of rotation by replacing/updating the league with a different number of teams.
Will this work for you guys?
-
@SpecialOne Some time ago we had a historic tournament that changed every month like World 1998 or EURO 1992. Can these tournaments return in OSM, with monthly rotation or as regular tournaments?
-
@SpecialOne Thanks for your support. It's not about the teams, its about the number of them and their absolutely equal team value.
In such a league, all participants start at the same point. -
i misunderstood and want to add, that the number of teams in the competitions is not always the same. We hatte a league with up to 60 participants per month. Another French league vs the same. And depending on the number of registrations er search for leagues.
Of course we can use smaller leagues, what we already do, but the the first ist often twice the value of the last.
-
As the previous speakers have already described, we are not interested in the names of the teams, or from which countries these teams come, but that the teams all have the same starting value in a league.
In the community, many competitions are organized, either within one's own crew, or between several crews, or between managers from different nations, and these competitions should primarily have equal conditions for all participants, i.e. equal team values.
The "Manager on the Top League" is great, but for some purposes too big. Also, from experience, there is the problem that there are not enough players available on the transfer list for all participants when the league consists of 16 very active managers.
We, for example, play our crew league without the scout. We started playing in big leagues, first with 20 in a league, and then successively played smaller and smaller leagues. We have found that leagues with 10 teams are just the right size and bring all managers the most fun. Maximum in leagues with 12 teams. In all larger leagues, the fun factor falls by the wayside, we have found.
Therefore, we would welcome a smaller league, with the same team values, very much. The teams could be called like in the Friendly Battle Team 1-10, or consist of fantasy names like Bayern United or Eintracht Madrid, I think that would not bother the community, because as mentioned, we are about something else.
We currently play our competition with 60 managers, with promotion and relegation between leagues, after one season, and with 1st league to 6th league. And I know many communities that organize similar competitions, that would much rather have their competitions in smaller leagues, if OSM would offer us an option for that.
Can you maybe create a league of for example 24 teams, which are then called teams 1-24 or have fantasy names, which all have the same value, and then when creating the league you can choose how big the league should be? So that the league moderator has an option to choose if the league should consist of 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 or 24 teams?
From my point of view this could be a quite "simple" solution. OSM does not need to offer 5 or more new leagues, but only one league, and each community could open its league according to its own ideas. And all wishes of the community would be covered with such an option.

New: Temporary League: TOTS
We were wondering: which European League is the best? We think we found a way to figure it out.
For the eight biggest Leagues in Europe we've created a team of the season. They battle in a League to see who's the best. That should answer the question.
The good thing is that you can help fight this battle. Pick the League you think is the best and win the TOTS League*.
*Everyone who joins the League and wins it, has a chance to win 1.000 Boss Coins. We're giving away 5 packs of Boss Coins. Winners will be contacted after the event ended in July.

Hello,
The player Chovanie Amatkarijo (GAIS Göteborg, Sweden 2nd Division) has wrong nationality. He's not Swede, he's from Sint Maarten. I saw him play for the national team, but here's his profile on voetbal.com for evidence:

He also holds Dutch citizenship as he was born there.

@stefanogonzalez89 You expect too much of this game and its customer support Long gone are the times when they thought about quality of the game and managers itself, nowadays they are focused only on finding ways to make players spend bosscoins..

Subject: Suggestion for New Features to Enhance OSM's Multiplayer Experience
Dear OSM Development Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am a passionate player of Online Soccer Manager (OSM) and thoroughly enjoy the game, especially when playing with friends. I believe that adding new features could greatly enhance the multiplayer experience and make the game even more exciting and engaging for all players.
I would like to suggest the introduction of a customizable league creation feature. This feature could allow players to set up leagues with different tournament formats, such as:
Group Stage Options: Allow players to choose group formats, such as groups of 4, 6, or 8 teams. This would add variety to the gameplay and cater to different numbers of players.
Knockout System: Introduce a knockout stage option where teams progress based on elimination matches. This would add a competitive edge to the league, making every match crucial.
Flexible Group Numbers: Allow players to select the number of groups (2, 4, or to suit the total number of participants. This flexibility would make it easier for groups of friends to create leagues that fit their preferences and schedules.
These additions would greatly enhance the social and competitive aspects of the game, making it more appealing to both current and new players. It would encourage more strategic planning, teamwork, and rivalry among friends, which are key components of a fun multiplayer experience.
I hope you consider this suggestion, as I believe it would bring a new dimension to the game that many players would appreciate. Thank you for your time and for continuously improving OSM.
Best regards,
mr otakoucht -
