Medals rules and logic

There are some interesting things being said here! Yes the ideal of this new medals system is awesome. About the implementation however, it seems dubious indeed. 4,5 months ago, they told us to wait a bit so that the ranking stabilizes. Let's see.
Until now, I wonder why 4 slots are needed or is the ratio against other managers according to their level well enough calculated because that leads to this question:
--> In order to be top ranked on osm, is it better to play individually 4 accounts against noobs ?
Or to play high level leagues/crew competitions ? -
Im with you completelly on this one. Idea on its own is great, but implementation is weak.
And the answer to your question is obvious. Play simple noob leagues and use as much coins as possible to minimize the defeats as most as possible, because 1 defeat as lvl 9 manager is equal to 8 wins. Even more if we count league ending bonuses.
-
I see no refutation of this statement until now...if so, feel free to state your conclusions as well!
If not, it's such a pity that a game with millions of players bases its ranking upon playing against CPU's... Weakening crew activity and competitions against other players on its way. Maybe a staff member could explain why it's the case or why it's not.

Always so interesting this ranking of medals.
7 or 8 of the first 10 of the French medal ranking play on 4 closed accounts, alone against only computers to have 0 defeat .. It is terribly representative of the level of a player ... Super ... -
@timilic7
Yup, sadly that is the only way to climb up in rankings in this "fair" system after you reach certain point in points.
Win against lvl2 manager or lvl10 manager = practically same.
Win against manager ranked 100k+ in MP ranking, or win against top 10 manager in world in MPs = same.
Win against member of top crews or win against manager that joined game yesterday = same.It is sad indeed.
-
For me as a manager who likes to play official battles and leagues with full managers it feels impossible to reach level 10. One loss in battle min -1200 points and just +300 points for a win, doesn't matter level of the opponent.
Just like @timilic7 said: the only way to reach level 10 is if you play 4 closed leagues with 0 managers on it. Nvm, we're just wasting our time here...
-
One of the very simple solutions: only one account taken into account for the ranking of medals, at least we can continue the battles or the big championships on the others.
And only open championships are taken into account for the classification and not closed leagues ... -
@majstor-matt
Very sad....
where is the pride of being well ranked playing only against the computer? Is this rewarding? The game does not lose all credibility with such players at the top of the rankings?
No interest... -
And here we have brilliant news from today... Manager Points are being removed completelly over the next few months on OSM.. A very sad day for OSM...
Looks like we will have to adjust to see medal based ranking system. RIP competitive play..welcome noob and empty leagues.

@majstor-matt The working system of the medals becomes then even more important, I still do no get it.
@SpecialOne what's the position on this below?

Yes, really a pity this elimination of the coaches points, especially for the coaches who gave so much effort during all these years, everything is swept away suddenly
-
Question for those in charge if I may. Does anyone regurarly check "top managers" by new ranking? I see that "old cheaters" that were on top are banned and are not in the game anymore, but again we have the same problem... people in top 10 playing with fake accounts that are active only when they play against "main guy"...?
I must say once again, It is really sad that we got a ranking system that awards cheaters that make 100 fake accs and not some ranking that would give us regurarly active and competitive players a fighting chance...
-
@majstor-matt apparently, this is not the main problem, but only its consequence
well, they will ban 10 people, even if 100
right now, a new pack of sly ones is on the way, which will replace them in a couple of weeks -
@wenger-wise Yup, sad truth. This new systrem simply calls for that if you want to chase ranking.

I fear another big decline in user numbers when this transition comes through.
