Medal points by team managed

Hi,

I managed the Genoa and I was be champion in the league.
But, my medal point is very low. Because team's object is 9. Position is 1.
How can the medal point be so low?
Do teams with higher goals have higher medal scores? Shouldn't a team whose goal is normally to be 15th-16th place get a higher medal score when they finish the league as champions?
