I also noticed that the transfer list / transfer worker needs adjustments after this change. On my Aldosivi subaccount there are no side midfielders (MR/ML) or wingbacks (DR/DL) on the transfer list at the moment, while nobody bought a player on these positions after the last transfer worker.

At its current form, the 'Specific Positions'-functionality may well be the end of 'Free'-play. I think that for lots of Managers (me included) this will have a huge impact in the way how they manage (progress) their Team. Before this Update for instance, I was used to first sell a Player and then find a replacement on the Transferlist. With the current Transferlist, I do not see this happening anymore as the number of available Players for a specific Position is very limited. As an example, in our current CrewDuel, there is no RM available. Hence, you can only recruit one via the Scout, which means more planning upfront and lots of BossCoins.

I know the overall goal of the Developers (Gamebasics/Miniclip) is to generate more revenue (by increasing the need for buying more BossCoins), but I think this Update will eventually purge lots of 'Free'-Players (again... me included).

In my opinion, some changes are needed in order for this Update to work...
First of all, the Transferlist needs more available Players for all the different positions.
It also makes no sense that a Player has only 1 fixed Position, this makes rotating your Squad very difficult as you are forced to have backup players for every position.

Up until now, OSM was a very nice game to play, but I do not know if that will still be the case after this Update.

As much as I always wanted this update to happen (since the start of my OSM career I wanted to see positions on OSM) I must agree with some people here and say that sadly this update was not ready yet to be implemented on OSM. Some of the problems I have with this:

too many players are put in certain positions, while in real life they play couple positions
some positions are not well presented on the transfer list, and in game in overall (too few RM & LM players specifically)

These 2 problems are biggest ones for me. Just as the medals system, on its own this is a great idea, but its been rushed and not worked out well before being put into game.

Would be nice to just get a heads up and say it goes live on a certain date, instead of “from now”. A lot of people have 4 accounts and in competitive leagues and won’t have teams ready. A few days earlier it wouldn’t have been hard to just say it goes live on 10th feb on the 7th feb for example. @SpecialOne

There are no RBs because there are not much full backs in the world.

There is 4292 players that can cover RB position. SOURCE
There is 4251 players that can cover LB position. SOURCE

Problem is, as i states in my previous post, GB marks certain players as CB even though they can easilly play many positions.

Would it affect the rating and performance of the players if for example LF played as a RF ??

I already built my squad in a very very combative league ( 19 active and friends managers ) and its not easy to rebuild a team in that league

@specialone Too bad that there is nobody from GB is online to answer questions while this change is suddenly implemented and has huge impact on the matches tonight. We really need more information about the impact of letting players play out of position. For example: I appear to have 4 DC's and 1 DR in my team, how big will the reduction for my DC with 14 Att be when I pitch as DL? Or would it be better to buy a DL on the transferlist which has a 10% lower defending rating because he performs better on DL than my current player.

Unfortunately, we can't share information on the exact impact of bonuses. However, we can share that lining up all your players on their specific positions will generate a bonus that's comparable to lining up the right Specialists.
Because specific positions and Specialists are a nice way for a manager to add that extra touch to the Line-up.

You can still use all Attackers/Midfielders/Defenders on their positions. Specific players on their specific position just adds a bonus.
