Specific Player Positions - Discussion Topic

Nice touch with the green around the player when he is in position on the formation screen. Any chance of doing something like this for nationality bonus?

For managers who play 451 and 4231 its really hard to find RM and LM players in transferlist and there aren't too many players with this specific position especially if you're looking to get 80 - 85+ rating player. If you use scout you can choose only RM or LM and I would like something to change about this. Make the scout to search for both RM and LM in same time and maybe add more players with this specific positions.

Use your own creativity, instead of simply copying features from other games.

@isabellone I agree with this. After a few weeks I think detailed positions don't work for OSM. It's not possible to analyze the impact of placing a player on a different position in the same line. Also the Transfer List in OSM is very limited. It happened quite often that there was only 1 really better player on the transfer list. Now it may occur that that player is a Left Forward while I already have 2 players for this position. We need more players on the transfer list now there are more specific positions.
Also @JetonT. 's comment has been posted here before, I am wondering if still working on improvement or considering going back to the situation before the specific player positions were introduced. The MR and ML are indeed the worst positions to find a new player, but there are also times when there is not a single RF, LF, LB or RB available of decent level.
Last point is that the new system reduces tactical options. You have to choose between for example 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 B if you want to make a good team. You need 14 top level players if you want to be able to switch between these 2 formations. And when my RF is injured or tired then I have to use a less ideal player on that position. In OSM it's not possible to build a squad with a decent backup on every position (like I do on football manager).

Same as a lot of formations. 523a and 523b the two midfielders don’t even move, yet they change from CDM and CMfor this to work well certain players need to play a few different positions just like in real life. Certain CM can play CAM and CDM for example. Some LF and RF should be able to play on both wings, LM/RM ect. (Not all of them, just ones that can in real life)
I watch Leeds nearly every game. Dallas has played LB/RB and midfield etc. We have CBs that play in CDM etc. Just having one postion per player to swap formations and keep position bonus and keep is near impossible without having a team with 30+ squad players.

@jeffro-davies I agree. Leeds players are damn versatile.
Luke Ayling: RB, CB
Dallas: CAM, CB, LB, RB
Jamie Shackleton: LM, CAM, RB
Rodrigo: Anywhere along the frontlineSimply put, OSM needs utility players!

@aweijie
True. I had suggested this three months ago. By the way Leeds defenders can play as attacking midfielders which is very shocking The best utility player in Liverpool is James Milner. Looks like Klopp needs to train them other positions too. In the main lineup as much as I know, Bobby Firmino is the best utility player. -
Hi everyone! Multi-position players it's becoming urgent! For example, Cancelo is RB / LB or Sule is CB / RB. The game would win a lot with this!

I need more info to filter this and provide you the correct answer! Can you please provide some more info? Screenshot, language in which you're playing OSM....
It would help a lot, tks in advance!

def pos POND?

We really need multy positions to make game more realistic. Jack Grealish plays cam rf and lf but he is only lf on OSM. If game add multy position people will start playing some tactic other than the 4 3 3.
