Hi gentlemen, since you all are sharing about gaming, I thought about talking about my gaming experience

I first played on PC, my favourite games were Counter Strike, GTA Vice City and PES 2013, later I started playing on PS4, Played Fifa 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 before switching to PS5, Now I don't play much, too busy with OSM I guess
Well now I play on PS5 and have only Fifa 23, FC 25 and Need for speed, my fav is Payback
Hope you like my lil story, am not an OG gamer like @BrandZone_NL and @FC-Eddie_NL but I had quite an experience with gaming
@Mastermind-XI Still the OG games you've played on the PC

Just saw the message from Rockstar with another delay on GTA VI ! Launch date moved to november 26. The game allready should've been out a year ago..
Things like this make the expectation higher, but probably it does'nt compensate the waiting.

Hi all.
Great to see such a great discussion!
@FC-Eddie_NL look who i FINALLY managed to get post something in a discussion topic! I DID NOT expect a post from you here
(but ps, yes, it was kind of my mission to one day get @FC-Eddie_NL to post a post something like this). Anyway, very nice to hear such youโre an OG gamer too.
@Mastermind-XI, @BrandZone_NL great to hear your experiences too!
Turns out i have the smallest gaming career here
. I had ps3 a while ago, i remember playing the first assassins creed on it.@BrandZone_NL, @FC-Eddie_NL since you guys are some of the OGs, i thought iโd ask for a recommendation

.
I like RPG/role playing games in which you sort of follow a story, like, god of war and assassins creed are ok. Assassins creed is really good, but i do sometimes think it is kind of cliched, but it doesnโt spoil the fun. Are there any games in this genre currently, or upcoming, youโd say we HAVE to try out? -

AC was the option, but you mentionted it by yourself, did you play al of the AC games? If you got the Playstation Premium package you can download a ton of old games from the PSX/2/3/4 and play them on the PS5.
Metal Gear Solid was a cracker back in the days, Scarface as well. Resident Evil series. They've made a remaster of the Resident Evil one.
I've started gaming when i was 4 with a Nintendo Gameboy (the big old one) and a SNES. But that kind of games are not worth mentioning.

@BrandZone_NL
nice.
I havenโt played every single assassins creed. Memorable ones are also origins and valhalla, iโm not sure i finished them
.
Oh yeah, the legend of zelda, thats one i forgot. What a game. The thing is, these games have pretty much the same stuff, with going somewhere to reveal more of the map, fighting, completing quests etc.
Only thing with the legend of zelda is that breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom, and links awakening and echoes of wisdom, they have very different animation style, which i think doesnโt suit the series. It should all be like the first 2 in my opinion.
Have you guys played elden ring or ghost of tushima? Or spider man 2 even? Apparently they are very very good.One thing we havenโt talked about is esports. I think you guys might not watch that much, i watch quite often. Any esports you watch or youโre looking forward to?

Haha, mission accomplished then

As to the RPG's it kind of depend of what type of RPG you are into. You have the Western action RPG's like Mass Effect, The Witcher 3, The Elder Scrolls Skyrim and Cyberpunk 2077.
Then you have the From Software type RPG's like Elden Ring and Dark Souls and a lot of Soulslikes (same type of RPG, but from different developers) like Lies of P, Code Vein and Nioh
You have the Japanese RPG's. These are usually turn based. Good examples are Persona, older Final Fantasy games, Dragon Quest, Tales of-series and my personal favorite: The Legend of Heroes (or the Trails saga as most call it)
You have dungeon crawler RPG's like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile.
And then you also have the cRPG's like Baldur's Gate 3, Pillars of Eternity and Pathfinder.
Pretty much all of these type of RPG's have a good story, but gameplay can be really different.
And if it's just about story in general then you can choose between a wide range of different genres: action-adventures, walking simulators, horror games, all can have a good story aswell.

I don't follow esports. I rather play games myself then watch other people play it.

@FC-Eddie_NL
Wow, thats great. I did think iโd get top advice like that
.
Ok, i see, thats the general preference about esports.
Curiously asking, what type of games are you into more? I think RGPs/story driven games, right?
Or anything competitive too? -

Or anything competitive too?RPG's are indeed my favorite genre. I also like arcade racing games like Need for Speed. And sometimes open world action games like GTA and Red Dead Redemption or a first- or third-person shooter.
I play pretty much singleplayer only. In the past I played the older Call of Duty games (Modern Warfare and the first few Black Ops titles). It was pretty fun to go online even though I wasn't really good at it, but eventually I got bored with it. I also played Fall Guys for a while. That is a pretty fun game aswell.

That was pretty much to be expected. Rockstar has delayed GTA IV, GTA V and both Red Dead Redemption games aswell, so the chance that GTA VI would come out on May 26th was pretty small. That 2025-release they had in the very beginning was nothing more than a placeholder, not a realistic releasedate. So this is the first delay.

Nice. I started to play games when I was around 8 or 9 years old I think. It started with the MSX. My brother had a SNES and Nintendo 64. I shared the first Game Boy with my sister and later bought the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance. My very first console was the Xbox 360. Later got the Xbox One and bought the blue Playstation Days of Play version of the PS4 Slim.

@JAY-ZO I don't get the E-Sports concept.
Back in the days when you've been with 3 friends and there have been only 2 controllers or playing a single player with your friends with you the E-Sport was to watch the game and hope they did'nt play for to long so it was your turn. Never liked it

@FC-Eddie_NL Yes the Gameboy color was the next in the line, playing the first Pokemons with it.
But good to see that you've switched from the XBOX to Playstation.
In my case it was:
Gameboy-->Gameboy Color--> PSP-->Nothing
SNES-->Nintendo 64-->PSX (and hacked it so you could play ilegal downloaded games)-->PS2 (hacked it as well)-->PS3-->PS4-->PS5.Played X-BOX at some friends as well but always stayed faithfull to PS. But i think that the real gamers prefered XBOX.

@BrandZone_NL
i see.
I think the real gamers prefer ps now.
Some of my older family members tell me about hacking as well.

I haven't switched to Playstation. Xbox is my main console and I prefer the Xbox Series X over PS5. I like the Xbox controller a lot more, Xbox has a much better ecosystem and Xbox Game Pass is still an interesting idea, despite it's 50% price increase. I basicly only bought the PS5 for the Trails saga (not on Xbox) and for reviewing purposes. We don't always get a review code for the Xbox.
However, as @JAY-ZO mentioned, most real gamers have switched to Playstation back in 2013/2014, because Microsoft messed up the launch of the Xbox One. Playstation outsells Xbox and that gap is only increasing, but gets outselled by Nintendo. During the Xbox 360/Playstation 3 era, Xbox was king.

I have donโt know anything about xbox game pass, is it better than the PlayStation one? How many tiers are there, do they offer more than whatโs in the tiers of ps plus?

This is basicaly the new Game Pass:

It's pretty similar to ps plus, but Ultimate has the extra thing of day one releases. This includes all first-party titles (Xbox Games Studios), the indielabel ID@Xbox and some third-pary support.
