My all-time favourite football player is Thierry Henry because he played for my team Arsenal and always gave his best performance, he did everything for the team. His good position sense, skills, strength, pace, shooting is the best ever. Henry will remain as the best forward in the premier league history.

Zinedine Zidane. Because he was a pure spectacle to watch, he was doing wonders with ball at his feet and he had incredible vission of the game. And what is most importan, he always performed best in the most crucial moments (1998 WC Final, 2002 CL Final, 2006 WC QF)...

And that game, when he was 34 yo, at 2006 WC against Brazil (in which played Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Lucio, Dida, Adriano, Kaka....) where he almost singlehandedly destroyed them is to this day my favourite all time individual performance in some match... what a player he was... and best thing is, he is looking to become huge manager as well already 😄

Hard to pick only one, since this sport gave us so many memorable players.

    Ajax players that come close:
    -Heitinga
    -Bergkamp
    -Seedorf
    -Van der Sar
    -Ibrahimovic
    -Suarez
    -Chivu
    -Galasek

    Non-Ajax players that come close:
    -Sjevtsjenko
    -Adriano
    -Henry
    -Zidane
    -Ronaldinho

    All time favourite:
Filipho Inzaghi 🙂 Just because ugly goals are sometimes the nicest ^^

In my opinion, the best footballer ever is the Brazilian Ronaldo Nazario, aka 'The Phenomenon', the most talented player I have ever seen. He might have been a bit lazy, didn't like to train hard and also had bad luck with injuries... but when he was fit then he was simply unstoppable.
This is a video of his best goals for those who still think that Messi and Cristiano are the best:

@DWilson Ronaldo is one of the best indeed, absolute phenomenon. I agree with you Ronaldo in his prime might have been even better than Messi and Cristiano. Difference is of course that Messi and Cristiano are on top of football already for 8 to 10 years, while Ronaldo only showed his best for 2-3 years (due to injuries and lazyness). For me that counts too, because it's hard to get the best, but even harder to remain the best for several years.

    • Fenerbahçe's league history was the most scoring foreign footballer.
    • In the second season, he became the assist king of the league.
    • Fenerbahçe became the goal king in the 100th year.
    • Fenerbahçe's league history 3000 threw the goal.
    • Fenerbahce form the same season, the league has passed 100 goals.

I can agree with everything you said! Zidane was one of my favorites also.. And of course I have to say Jari Litmanen also, amazing player! :ok_hand_tone2:

    Very nice topic.
It is really HARD to choose the only one. I've been watching football for 25 years seriously and consider football of 90s and beginning of 00s to be more impassioned and heartfelt. Maybe that is why most of my heroes are from that time:

    • Jürgen Klinsmann
    • Andy Möller
    • Ronaldo (br)
    • Gabriel Batistuta
    • Alan Shearer
    • David Beckham
    • Gary Neville
    • Roberto Baggio
    • Francesco Totti
    • Pavel Nedved

This list will never be full...

Agree. Those are all top players and I like the fact that you included the great Totti, who is still playing at 40!

    Hey, nice topic.
    Without any doubt, this guy

    main-qimg-7fe2a0449429bcd48caec9f0af2aa417.jpg
    Cristiano Ronaldo

He is arguably the best footballer in the world , though it’s a debate of it’s own which I am not going to discuss here. What I like about him most is his, self confidence , kindness ,generosity that people often misunderstand as arrogance.

    His childhood summary

Cristiano Ronaldo was born on 5 February 1985 in Madeira, Portugal, to Jose Dinis Aveiro and his wife Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro. His father was a gardener with the municipality while his mother worked as a cook. Ronaldo was the youngest child among four children; others being a son and two daughters. They were too poor and her mother didn't really wanted a burden of one more child.
Ronaldo was expelled from the school after assaulted his teacher by throwing a chair at him. He had always been a keen footballer and by the time he was 14 years old he decided to concentrate on becoming a professional footballer. Ronaldo had been playing for Androrinha since he was eight.
But at the age of 15 Ronaldo was diagnosed with ‘racing heart’. His condition was serious and would have made him let go of football. But a surgery saved him and he went back for his training.
At the age of 17, Ronaldo played his first professional game for the ‘Portuguese Super League.’
In 2003, for the first time, Manchester United paid such a young player 12 million pounds as a signing amount. After this there has been no looking back.
    Current Stats-

Currently he is playing for Juventus in Serie A after playing from some iconic clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United. He has made and broken many records in football. He has won record tying 5 Ballon d'Or and already is nominee of this year Ballon d'Or (one of the most prestigious award in history of football ). More info https://www.econturk.org

It's a funny story. In 2010, I can't remember the exact date but I think it was the 2009/10 season. I was watching a football match for the first time. I said to myself whoever wins the match I am a fan of that club. It was United vs Fulham. United won it 3-0 and Wayne Rooney scored one or two. He became my favourite player and United my favourite club. Fulham my 2nd favourite. So if things had turned out differently I would be a Fulham fan with Bobby Zamora as my favourite.

Aside from that I loved the CM/ST role Rooney played with Welbeck or whoever running in from outside the box and guys like Carrick and Fletcher becoming "Strikers".
