It's a funny story. In 2010, I can't remember the exact date but I think it was the 2009/10 season. I was watching a football match for the first time. I said to myself whoever wins the match I am a fan of that club. It was United vs Fulham. United won it 3-0 and Wayne Rooney scored one or two. He became my favourite player and United my favourite club. Fulham my 2nd favourite. So if things had turned out differently I would be a Fulham fan with Bobby Zamora as my favourite.
Aside from that I loved the CM/ST role Rooney played with Welbeck or whoever running in from outside the box and guys like Carrick and Fletcher becoming "Strikers".

A simple reason why I think he is the best player of all times is because he is in a league of his own. Every now and then you see other players taking the ball from the midfield, dribble everyone and score or assist... but he is doing it and has been doing it for the last 15 years. That is ridiculous. It is all about the simplicity with him. There are other good players there but none to even get close to his level.
Best player. Best goal scorer. Best passer. Best dribbler. And not just that... he is also a role model in real life. Had the same girlfriend and later wife for his entire life and has 3 beautiful children.

I don't know what attached me with this player, probably the first jersey that I bought was with his name on it, he was left foot like I am and I simply loved his style of play.
