Please check the transfer history once more and then see if you sold anything or upgraded a stadium or something, other than that I don't think this is an actual bug because it has never happened to me.

All seems fine with your transfers. In fact you didn't sold any players on that league. Players were sold by the manager that was managing that team before you pick it!
