Overall question

Does a player overall makes better than a player with lower overall is only 48

For example got 2 strikers one got ATt 78 and that's the number that appears in the line up but is overral

And the other got 74 att but 51 overall

What's this mean? What's the purpose of the ovr stat?

The overall stat is an average of the attack and defence stats. Technically a player with a higher overall stat than the other is the better player, however it does come down to where you are playing that player in your formation and what tactics you are using too.

Attackers with a low defence stat will not be a good choice for line tactics such as drop deep or support midfield, however would be suitable for attack only.

It's definitely worth experimenting though. You may find that the higher overall stat may benefit your team, formation and tactics.
