    Absolutely. Even OSM's official Facebook page gave this tip years ago. If you for example, manage to get some players with the same role, with the same nationality, it's a hidden bonus. Now that doesn't mean that you are going to win all the time, it's not a 100% magical working trick, but it still gets the job done in most of the cases.
