How to beat 4-5-1 counter

Hi there, I'm playing against a 4-5-1 counterattack, target marking and no offside.
The problem is that my squad is the worst of the league so I've been playing whit 5-3-1-1 counter. So the main question is: should I still use counter and defensive formation against someone who uses counter, or should I attack even if I'm the weakest?
