@moltensky said in Nations Cup - Explanation, FAQ, Rules and Discussion:
Hello Friends!
Today we'll explain the mechanics of the Draw for the First Round of the Nations Cup 2021 Tournament.
"Chance can allow you to accomplish a goal every once in a while, but consistent achievement happens only if you love what you are doing."
Bart Conner, a former US gymnast that won 2 gold medals in the 1984 Olympics, is the author of these wise words. The fate of the National Teams may be determined in part by the draw, but mostly by their players' dedication to the game. We're sure we'll have the privilege to see in action the best players of each participating Country, and the quality of their performance will most certainly rise this Tournament to the highest level!
Until now, we have 44 National Teams registered (we would like to remind you that registration is open until 31/01 at 23:59 CET) :
If you are a National Team Coach, still considering the hypothesis of participating, what are you waiting for?! We'll close the Registrations if we reach 48 National Teams.
Now. About the Draw.
We'll use a well known website for this process - ChooseRandom (https://chooserandom.com/).
We have defined a table that will be used to sort all the National Teams in 3 Groups of 16:
NT stands for National Team, and the 3 Groups are arranged in numeric order: Group A (NT1 to NT16), Group B (NT17 to NT32) and Group C (NT33 to NT48).
Also, we have already defined the order of each Group Leagues: 4 leagues in each group, in a total of 12 leagues. We remind you that we'll use Community Leagues in this tournament.
Considering the fact that we have currently 44 National Teams registered, the NC Staff as already defined that CPU's may be used to complete the leagues, and their positions in the table: to even their presence, we'll place one CPU in each Group, positions NT16, NT32 and NT48. These positions won't be used in the draw.
Below you can see how the the leagues will be (already considering the presence of CPUs):
Using the League 2C as an example of CPU placement, Watford will not be used by any human player.
The Draw will be made associating elements of 2 Lists:
In one list the Table Positions
In the other list the National Teams:
The National Teams will be inserted in this list by Registration Order, as can be seen in the table below.We've already made a TEST DRAW with the elements above, that we'll use to give some examples for better understanding.
The TEST DRAW can be seen in this link - https://echaloasuerte.com/sets/80688f25-c1a8-485a-86df-7f637d6b7ee9
Considering that we'll have 4 CPU Crews (there will be 48 positions, and we have 44 National Teams registered so far), and after placing 3 of these CPU's in each group, as told before, we will use one CPU in the draw, to define its position in one of the 3 groups (one of the groups may have 2 CPUS if we don't have at least one more National Team registration until the given deadline).
In this example the 4th CPU was drawn in the position NT9:
Given that draw result, CPU4 position in the Groups table would be in Group A:
And the Group A Leagues would have CPU teams as shown below:
Rangers in League 1A, Excel Moeskroen in League 2A, would not be used by any human player, for instance, in this example.
Now, in another example, let's say Venezuela would be paired in the Position NT33 in the Draw. It would be placed in Group C:
And the teams for Venezuela in this first round would be:
Venezuela G1 - Real Betis (League 1C)
Venezuela G5 - Club Brugge (League 2C)
Venezuela G9 - Rangers (League 3C)
Venezuela G13 - Excel Moeskroen (League 4C)Finally, the DRAW will be public, and NC Staff will post it's link for everyone to see the results (it will have a timer).
After this Groups Draw, another Draw will be made, to determine who will be PM in each league. We remind you that only G1's will be considered.

@MoltenskyAnd today in "Nations Diary" we have the interview, with @IvanAndal , Croatian National Team Coach:
Q : What do you think of the format of this competition?
A: I believe this format is the future of battles since old style battles are prohibited. That being said I think, with time, the community will develop this format further and bring new innovations to it. This is just the beginning.Q : Do you have any suggestions to improve the competition?
A: It might be interesting to try this format of competition in a fantasy league without transfers. That would be a new approach to international competitions. I'm not sure whether it would be better than the current, but it would definitely be interesting.Q: What can you tell, about Croatian team?
A: Croatian team is very young (not by age, but by international experience). We have assembled a year ago and have been learning a lot since then. After competing in the WNT and EURO we saw that we can play competitively and we are very happy to be a part of all international competitions and play against the best teams in the world.Q: What are your objectives for the competition?
A: Our goals for this competition are to give a chance to few new managers with potential to become the future of our national team and while doing that see how high we can place ourselves on the international stage with this new format of competition (for which i think suits us a bit better than the old battles).Q: When you select the coaches to represent the National Team, what is the most important thing?
A: There are several criteria for being selected to our national team. First and most important one is extreme activity both in the game and communication channels. Second is the ability to learn and accept new ideas and strategies.
Third criterium is, sadly, the amount of, and the ability to accumulate BC. In these competitions people spend a lot of coins and our managers have to be able to keep up with this tempo. (Although I would be much happier if this aspect of the game could be excluded completely from competitions as this.)
That being said, Croatian community is rather small and our resources can't really be compared to bigger nations, thats what makes us even more proud to be able to compete on high levels.Q: At Nations Cup we will have: "The Diary of the Nations", a casual informative thread within the competition, what do you suggest it be published?
A: In my opinion it would be good to keep up with whatever is trending in the game community at the given time.
Sometimes it might be preparation for the competition, prediction of the outcomes, or the results of the competition when it is over. Sometimes comments on the game updates affecting the game on this level. Maybe commenting on some positive rivalries. Anything that could spark up the OSM community.Thank you, Ivan, for the interview! Best of luck to Croatia !
Well, thats all for today! See you tomorrow, in a new edition of "Nations Diary"!
Thank you, stay safe and enjoy life!

@MoltenskyToday, we have an interview with the Cameroon National Team Captain, @otman347891 !
Q : What do you think of the format of this competition?
According to me, the format is very good because we don't have a lot of possible formats since the old battles are prohibited, we have to offer formats without strategies unfortunately but we prefer formats like that rather than having no competition.Q : Do you have any suggestions to improve the competition?
I think that if this competition is organized every year, so as not to have the format repetitive, it would perhaps be necessary to change the format at each edition to vary the pleasures.Q: What can you tell, about Cameroon team?
Our selection is one of the youngest in the game at the moment, but we know that we have a solid group and that we have our chances of going far like all the other nations, we just have to play without complex.Q: What are your objectives for the competition?
Our objective will be to go as far as possible, to give a good first impression of the nation. The best way to predict the future is to create it on our own.Q: When you select the coaches to represent the National Team, what is the most important thing?
The level of the player in the game is very important but the level is not everything. There is also the one who listens to what is said to him, the one who learns through defeat while wanting to improve and the one who is motivated.Q: At Nations Cup we will have: "The Diary of the Nations", a casual informative thread within the competition, what do you suggest it be published?
I propose to publish articles on the nations which make a good start to the competition otherwise I don't really have any other ideas.Thank you Otman, for the interview! Good luck Cameroon!
Well, thats all for today! See you tomorrow, in a new edition of "Nations Diary"!
Thank you, stay safe and enjoy life!

@Apocalipse4And now we have a new challenge, for all Nations Cup participants, we call it Predictions!! Starting today, and until the last day of the lineup registration (07/02), we will do a survey to know your opinion about who will be the winner, second and third place in the Nations Cup. To participate, just answer here in the topic, as follows:
Predictions
1st -
2nd -
3rd -Filling in the blanks with the National teams of your choice, on 08/02, after the lineup registration phase is over, we will publish here the results of the survey, and the National teams chosen by you!! Who will be the winner, of the Nations Cup first edition? What are you waiting for?! Start the polls!!
And today, in Nations Diary, we have the interview with @Alexandar Blumenshtil the National coach of Serbia :
Q : What do you think of the format of this competition?
A : I think the idea is good, given the circumstances we met, that the rules are as they are, and that old battles are not allowed, that players from the same nation cannot be in the same league, this is perhaps the only chance to as much as it maintains the balance and competition that will in a way be a team, unfortunately only available to us, and thank you for such a good idea.
Q : Do you have any suggestions to improve the competition?
A : Maybe I would just add to change the rules around restricting players from one clan, I can say that is my only complaint. I believe that a lot of teams cannot play on the strongest team because of that rule.
Q: What can you tell, about Serbian team?
A : This team what i have been leading for almost a year is 'young', but we have shown that we can play with anyone. I have to say that i had to form a completely new team compared to the one my predecessor led and had. But, I menaged to persuade him to join us in this tournament, so in my opinion, one of the best players in the game will be part of Serbian national team, which makes me especially happy. By the way, my guys are the best for me, and they are champions for me!
Q: What are your objectives for the competition?
A : When we represent the national team, we always go and aim for the biggest placement, step by step, our first focus is entering the finals.
Q: When you select the coaches to represent the National Team, what is the most important thing?
A : First of all, by representing Serbia, even if it was in the game, there is always some pressure, there is always some abnormal adrenaline and there is always a desire to give 300% of ourselves. That is why I choose players who can be versatile with tactics, formations and therefore, players who will have time in a given period to follow this tournament properly with their activity, especially around the transfer period, and of course, to be ready to spend a lot coins for this kind of tournament. So they have to be ready for everything, and give their best.
Q: At Nations Cup we will have: "The Diary of the Nations", a casual informative thread within the competition, what do you suggest it be published?
A : Eventually, maybe you could follow the players a bit, take a random player from each national team and do interviews with them how they got to the national team, how they started to play this league more seriously, how they look at all this. There are a lot of interesting things that could be asked to the players themselves, and you would be surprised if you found out the answers to everything.
What a journey!! Thank you Alexander for this enlightning interview! Good Luck Serbia
Well that´s for tonight, tomorrow we will have new informations and updates! Stay tuned for the new edition of Nations Diary!!
Thank you, stay safe and enjoy life!!

Barw biało-czerwonych w 1 rundzie tego turnieju bronić będą (w kolejności alfabetycznej):
@pb1984 (PL) @Magic-89 (PAM) @sniki26 (HPL) @tristan1982 (PE)
Nad dwoma rezerwowymi, którzy wejdą na podmiankę w 2 rundzie, nadal łamię sobie głowę. Ale jeszcze jest czas na składy.
Start lig 8 lutego br. w poniedziałek.
Wszyscy czterej panowie potwierdzili swój udział i gotowość.

Jesteśmy wymieniani w przewidywaniach wśród faworytów do mistrzostwa.

Hello Community.
Today we will explain better, given some doubts, about how the teams of each selection will be distributed by the leagues.
For this we will give an example:
Therefore according to this table the selection of Portugal will have their teams distributed like this :
League 1A -> G13
League 2A -> G1
League 3A -> G5
League 4A -> G9G1 -> Benfica
G5 -> Zenit
G9 -> Rangers
G13 -> TroyesSo the squares with the name of the country are on the line where your teams are for a given goal.
@Dovco_HandF about the doubt you mentioned, it was our fault, thankfully you warned us, to be fair to everyone because players with different schedules will face each other, purchases can only be made after the first sales, later we will post this rule in Nations Cup regulation
Remember that the date to post the alignment on the link we provide is until February 7th
About the predictions we wanted to leave… a note .
Unfortunately for us, Romania did not register.
We will also leave the prefictions here. Updated at 19:00 CET.
We will post the definitive table on 8/2, don't leave your guess out .
Well today we’re going to have the interview with Ivan the coach of Ukraine.
Q: What do you think about the format of this competition?
A: The format is very interesting and the fact that banned friendly matches will raise the adrenaline of each participant.
Q: Do you have a proposal to improve competition?
A: To improve the competition of less active managers, you can play without transfers. Since this is a team tournament it would be very interesting.
Q: What can you say about the Ukrainian team?
A: This will be the first official tournament for the Ukrainian national team.
Q: What are your goals for the competition?
A: If Ukraine goes to the next round, it will be a great victory for us.
Q: When you choose coaches to represent the national team, what is most important?A: Everyone should have experience and be promising during the tournament itself, but the most important thing is that they make their own decisions against rivals.
Q: In the Nations Cup we will have: "Diary of Nations" - random news in competitions. What do you propose to publish?
A: When an unknown and weaker manager shows good results.
Thank you for your time and good luck in the competition.

Czekam jeszcze na potwierdzenie, ale jeśli dobrze rozpykałem system organizatorów to wyglądać to będzie tak:
Poland:
League 1B -> G9 Basel @sniki26
League 2B -> G13 Herades Almelo @Łukasz-Wierzbowski
League 3B -> G1 Watford (PM) @pb1984
League 4B -> G5 CF Monterrey @tristan1982 -
Koszulki reprezentacyjne na ten turniej wykonane przez @Dino-Ligenza, możecie je zatrzymać. Jak ktoś nie potrafi wrzucić na profil, mogę mu to zrobić w moich narzędziach
@sniki26 - kapitan, (HPL)
@Łukasz-Wierzbowski, debiutant (PW)
@pb1984 - PM (PL)

Jest też dla mnie koszulka, choć ja nie gram w turnieju (wiem, niegrający selekcjoner to nowość u nas), tylko wybieram, doglądam, ustawiam i doradzam. Dzięki @Dino-Ligenza

"I hated every minute of training but i said don't quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life like a champion" - Muhammad Ali.
Yesterday was a day of great emotions, with the draw of the series and the PM, which we now announce:
As you can see, all the PMs are drawn, and as we receive the lineups, we will update this list with the name of the coaches (G1) who will have to create their respective leagues on the 8th of February. The registration of lineups can be done until 07/02 at 23:59. Next weekend, we will give more detailed information, with a walkthrough explaining how PMs should create the leagues, which we remember will be the Community League.
I leave the link here, of the Nations Cup regulation, in case you want to consult :
http://bit.ly/NC2021-Regulation
Now we will explain how the qualification will be, for the Nations Cup final. As we announced at the presentation of the competition, we would have the possibility of having a tournament with 16, 32, 48 or 64 teams, depending on the number of National teams registered. As you know, we will have 47 National teams and a CPU, that is to say 48 teams, in this format, the first 5 classifieds, of the A, B and C series, will be qualified, which makes 15 teams and the 16th team to qualify for the Final, will be the 6th best of the 3 series. In the event of a tie, between 2 or more teams, to define who will be the best 6th in the 3 series, we will use the following criteria, in decreasing order of importance, to define who will be qualified :
»» The team that scores the most points ;
»» The team with the most wins ;
»» The team that has the best balance between goals scored and goals conceded ;
»» The team with the most goals scored.
Yesterday we launched a new challenge to all participants of the Nations Cup : Predictions!! And we already had some feedback, but it seems that there is not much conviction or belief in the capacity of the teams present in this tournament!

3rd -Today we also opened the Whatsapp group of the competition, we hope you have fun there, exchanging ideas and curiosities, and we will update as the lineups arrive, with the contacts of national coaches / captains, but do not forget doubts about the competition, put it here on the topic, and for complaints use the official email of the Nations Cup :
And today at Nations Diary, we are pleased to receive @Dcortezr Chile National coach :
Q : What do you think of the format of this competition?
A : We really like it a lot. Since classic battles were banned, we have not had many opportunities to play tournaments as a team, so this type of competitions with teams of the highest level are always well received from us.
Q : Do you have any suggestions to improve the competition?
A : You can always improve and add new things, but meanwhile our goal is to play the competition, see the dynamics, and then evaluate according to the experience we have in the tournament, we are really looking forward to enjoy it and eventually help to improve different aspects of the competition.
Q : What can you tell, about Chilean team?
A : We are a team with a very strong base that we have been building for just over a year. The work of the last months has been to integrate new managers, instill in them the way of playing and the philosophy that we have as a team. The truth is that we have formed a great team, with a great team atmosphere, which will surely continue like this over time.
Q : What are your objectives for the competition?
A : Our goal as a team is to go as far as possible, I think we really have a winning team, always knowing that the rivals are of a very high level and that any mistakes we make can be crucial for us.
Q : When you select the coaches to represent the National Team, what is the most important thing?
A : The first thing is seriousness, I want players who are really active in the game, players who are always at the disposal of their teammates, players who can potentially be captains for our team. I think one of the great things we have in our favor, is that we have many managers who are leaders within the team, each one contributing what they know and knowing their place in the team, and that is something that gives a lot of peace of mind at the time of putting together a lineup or selecting people for a tournament.
Q : At Nations Cup we will have: "The Diary of the Nations", a casual informative thread within the competition, what do you suggest it be published?
A : It is always good to give recognition to the teams and players that are having outstanding performances, we hope to be continuously appearing in this diary, obviously for good things!
And that´s it folks!! What a pleasure to interview @Dcortezr thank you my friend! Good Luck Chile
Don´t forget to comeback tomorrow, we will have fresh informations and updates! And of course, your favourite moment of the day : Nations Diary!!
Thank you, stay safe and enjoy life!!

@moltensky said in Nations Cup - Explanation, FAQ, Rules and Discussion:
@dovco_handf Hi! Thank you for your attention to all details concerning Nations Cup 2021!
About your questions:
"1. How many rounds will there be in the tournament? 2?" and "2. How many national teams will advance from the first to the second round?"
There will be 2 rounds, and 16 National Teams will qualify to the next round, as stated previously in (https://forum.onlinesoccermanager.com/topic/59968/nations-cup-explanation-faq-rules-and-discussion/87?page=5)
"3. What will happen to those teams that are eliminated? Or will they play for weaker places in round 2? Is this the end of the tournament for them?"
The National Teams that don't qualify in the first round will be eliminated from the tournament. However, we will organize new editions of the Nations Cup, and then those National Teams will have another chance to prove their value!
"4. Four managers will play in the first round. How many will play in the second round? 4 or 6?"
The lineups for both rounds will be of 4 players, each in a goal (G1, G5, G9, G13). However, between rounds, at least 2 players must be changed. We will consider the lineups posted in the form, where every National Team Coach identifies not only the 4 players that will play the first round, but also the substitutes. For the 2nd round, at least 2 substitutes must be used for the lineup, therefor changing at least 2 of the payers that played in the first round. This information is available here (https://forum.onlinesoccermanager.com/topic/59968/nations-cup-explanation-faq-rules-and-discussion/40?page=2)
Regarding your post about the teams that the Draw dictated for Poland in Group B, it's all correct! And don't worry, we will post not only a League Creation Walkthrough, but also an extensive list of the PM's and players in all leagues, after the lineups are closed.
Thank you, stay safe and enjoy life!!
