Player won't be transfered

Been trying to sell a 96 LF for almost 3 weeks and nothing... Price value is 26M, I tried to sell him for 40M for more than 10 days and it's been a week now since i'm trying to sell him for 36M.
Repeat: player's price is 26M... and i don't even put him to train. he's 29 y.o.
Am i supposed to give him away for his value or just wait for the league to end and never sell him anyway? This is getting ridiculous specially when you see other managers in the same league selling some players for higher values than this one.

I had once a 97 Lorenzo Insigne in my Man Utd slot, and I put him on the transfers for 2 weeks in the league and 1 week in the winner's cup, but he still didn't get sold.
my only suggestion is wait, cuz it depends on your luck.
