Game favors the "bigger" clubs.

I played 2 cup matches tonight.
With Lazio(4th in league) against Roma(9th) and I lose 0-1.
With Villareal(1st in league) against Valencia(5th) and lose this one after penalties (0-0).
In both cases I immediately play an exhibition match against the same opponents and now I win with 1-0(Lazio) and 3-0(Villareal).
Just cause they need to end 1st, does not give them the right to win cup matches automaticaly when they would have lost a league match or exhibition match with the same setup. That's what I think at least.

@MrHotshot85_NL Say what?! Then how come I won 2 doubles on my last 2 leagues while chosing a low goal team?
Could you please explain this to me Mr.Hotshot? I'm all ears to listen to your opinion.I even tagged your topic and I hope it will create a nice discussion cause, in my humble opinion, I think it is quite unfair to believe that or feel this way about the game we play here.
Hope to read what other managers have to say about it my friend.P.S. Catchy nick name by the way. :thumbsup_tone2:

Thanks for responding.
It's good to hear that it doesn't alway happen.
But in my case I'm curious cause I won many times before in exhibition matches.
I even won with Lazio against Roma in the league game.
But for some reason Roma wins the cup game.
Same goes for Villareal where I am in 1st in the league.
It just feels forced somehow.
I can take a loss, no problem there, but at least don't let me win the exhibition game I play 2 minutes after the cup game with the exact same players, positions and tactics. -
@MrHotshot85_NL My friend if I got you right you mentioned your wins from friendly matches? Please don't compare them with your real league's rounds. The game engine is known that behaves differently in the friendly matches. Low fitness or low morale or too much pressure and rough tackling for instance are not affecting a friendlys result. But the engine simulates every little detail for the actual matches.
And take a look at this topic if you want please. https://forum.onlinesoccermanager.com/topic/6795/shame
In my opinion this manager is suggesting that a hard effort in squad building should not be allowed on this game. Well wouldn't that favor only the highest and top goaled teams then?
Personally I love the fact that I get the chance to choose a low goaled club, work hard on my squad building and manage to beat higher goaled clubs than mine. This game is a complex one and requires a combination of managerial skills to help us earn a good position in any league.
I love this about OSM :heart_exclamation: -
@SUPERNOVA-8 Well I for one hate the randomness.
One game I have 8 shots on goal and 3 goals with 47% possession, and the next I have 16 shots and 0 goals with 63% possession.
Got nothing to do with Squad building or having a higher skilled team.
I just lost my cup game with Ajax vs Heracles.
My result: 55% possession, 10 shots 0 goals.
His: 45% possession, 8 shots 1 goal.
My strikers are all higher skilled + my goalie is higher skilled.
F*ck logic. -
Alright then. Maybe @MrHotshot85_NL this should be your topic's title in the first place : I hate randomness.
And not : The game favors bigger Clubs . Just a thought there.Do we have any other managers reading this topic ? Would be great to hear a couple more opinions on this matter.

In my opinion, you shouldn't give credit to friendly games. They are not reliable at all and what happens in them is very different to what happens in "real" matches.
You mention cup matches: I think that the game engine behaves differently in cup matches. Sometimes I play a league match against a rival and I win easily and scoring many goals; then I play a cup match against the same rival and normally the final score is closer and the stats are tighter.
