    I was horrified to find earlier, the German forum has been removed and closed, there is now only a support thread. This decision annoys me!

    On the one hand, how the German-speaking community was dealt with, on the other hand, that our work for the community was simply trampled underfoot. You don't do something like that!

    There was no communication, no exchange with the community, there was no announcement from OSM, the forum was simply closed quietly. That is not comprehensible!

    Even if the forum was not as frequented as OSM would like, one should give those who visit the forum regularly, or those who have created and maintained important threads for the community, the opportunity to still save something via screenshot. Or to copy!

    And if the responsible people have too few users in the forum, then they should also inform all app players that there is a forum at all, and implement a direct access to the forum in the game, instead of closing the forum!

    I am really disappointed beyond measure about your decision!

    @Bembelmän this is really sad, even if it was not very much activity there. 😞

    Another good example of how little Gamebasics cares about users. The content created by us was deleted without further notice. I must say I feel treated like I'm trash. Spent a lot of time and work on it, just to see it being deleted now. Like you say @Bembelmän , simply not understandable how these decisions are being made lately.

    @Bembelmän

    I agree with the fact that there should be some direct link to the forum to promote the forum. Now closing the forum is not a smart solution but rather a lazy solution.

    The forum has potential and it is necessary to innovate the forum in order to bring users to this place where players without exposing themselves can organize themselves to hold tournaments or ask for help from those responsible for the game. Therefore, I think the decision taken is wrong, and the direct link in the application to the forum would be the best possible option.

    Since the cost of doing this is zero and it can be much more beneficial to lock more players for longer periods of time.

    Otherwise, soon we will only have Support forums in the different languages available and a completely stopped forum and to stop is to die.

    Hi,

    Forum was closed due to inactivity. It wasn't the first one and it won't be the last.

    Since January we had around 80 posts, less than a post per day!

    If there's any important topic you wish to maintain, I would restore it to German Support forum. Keep in mind that if activity on the topic will remain the same as lately topic will be removed again 👍

    Just let me know the title of the topic and I'll restore it 👍

    @SpecialOne Wow so you guys do care about activity on forums after all? When will World Forum be closed as well, as we barelly get any posts outside competitions stuff 😄

    Would be nice if some work was done around promotiong activity.. I remember back in the days forum mods had a job in trying to promote discussion among other tuff.. its sad to look at the forum nowdays compared to what it used to be..

    On the German Forum stuff.. people put effort in there, its really a shame that there was not some kind of announcement so that they can make back up of it..

    @SpecialOne Sorry to make 2 threats, but i have created onw in the german Forum, so only Bembelmäns WNC threat would be worth to be recovered.

    Is it possible to request to Pin the Ranking Threat? 🙂

    @SpecialOne

    As Markus has already written, please reactivate the WNC thread. I think this is called: Deutsche OSM Nationalmannschaft.

    Please also the thread of the German ranking. There I don't know the headline too. If you can post us a screenshot of the first 3 pages with the threads, here, we can surely tell you which one it is about.

    And please reactivate the thread : :Deutschsprachige "OSM Meisterschaft" 2023. There we plan something in the future.

    Furthermore I would like to have an own thread for my crew, where we can present ourselves.

    And, a general thread would be good for German crews who would like to introduce themselves or are looking for managers.

    Sorry, but what's the use on reactivating topics where last post was more than a year ago?

    German forum died to the point that even ALL volunteers we had for German language quit because they couldn't revive it... And now after we remove it you decide you want to do something? Sorry, but that won't bring German forums back.

    If you really want to have something about German community, use EN forums and make the topics in English. 👍

    @SpecialOne

    The last post was a year ago, because the WNC takes place only 1x a year. So there was no reason to post something in between. Since the WNC is currently running, we will post our reports and statistics there again or we wanted to, unfortunately it is no longer possible.

    And to present our new crew in English for German speaking managers makes little sense.

    I don't mean that in a bad way, but offering to reactivate threads that are important for us and then refusing to do so is not gentleman like and not credible I have to say.

    We have to accept your decision, but not respect it. Thanks for your feedback and your efforts.

    Active topic was returned. Don't see any reason to return dead topics.

    Main goals for OSM forum are:

    • Provide support (no need to be really active, but try to be there when major situations arise);
    • Get bug reports from community and with their help filter them and fix them ASAP;
    • Provide some help and guidance to new users, so they can understand game mecanics fast;
    • Engage community and collect feedback (this requires an active community and active topics where healthy discussions happen and are promoted)

    Mister Special One, I have to jump in on that matter. You say, one of the main goal of the forums is to "provide some help and guidance to new users, to they can understand game mechanics fast.". Yet you seem to fail at guiding them to the guide. I´ve never seen an app game which requires you to actively search for a forum. There´s literally no hint in the app that there may actually be a guide or something. So in case you were wondering why the German community "died" (it really didn´t), I´ll give you that hint. And it really isn´t a new thing, people complain about this all the time.

    Second, you said that one of the main goals for OSM forums are to engage the community which requires an active community. You also said:

    German forum died to the point that even ALL volunteers we had for German language quit because they couldn't revive it... And now after we remove it you decide you want to do something?

    It seems I have to remind you that your job is being a community manager. So you blame us, we´re not active enough in Forums. You´re wondering why the community died. But you are the one who failed to make said forum attractive since it´s literally your job. I´ve never seen a game where the people in charge cared less about communities than OSM. No effort is being made by officials to make something exciting, no official events where you can earn rewards (it doesn´t cost you guys anything to give out some BC but it really would make hell of a difference for the communities). If we propose leagues or new formats, you deny the proposal or simply delete it. Well, how could the German community "die"? I think you have your answers now.

    In case you are wondering why we say the community didn´t die: we ( @Bembelmän , @MarkusRW5 and me) do everything we can to keep it alive. We do the job you´re failing at, and we´re doing it well. But not in forums, because you guys don´t seem to care and are no help at all.
    So consequently, you decided to remove the German forums as well. Because the few people who have found their way here should in no way suspect that there is a German community (which could have happened if the person had seen that there are even three German-speaking national teams, namely that of Switzerland, Austria and Germany).

    Active topic was returned. Don't see any reason to return dead topics.

    @Bembelmän literally just explained it to you. It´s not dead, it was resting. No, you don´t revive that topic because it´s an annual event which just restarted a month ago (you as community manager should know this - it´s one of the biggest events in this game, if not THE biggest event on World Servers) because nobody wrote something while it didn´t take place. Great job, man. Great job.

    So as this is a whole essay now, I may summarize: you failed in your job, so community became less active. You blame us that you failed by saying we´re not active any more. Now you take the only thing that gave us the opportunity to reach people who are not yet in our community from us to erase any chance to revive it instead of actively trying to revive it yourself by doing your job (I know you´re able to speak German and also we live in 21st century, so there´s tools like AI-driven translators to translate).

    I hope you can see now why we´re angry. And I really do hope you start caring for communities because this may be a point of no return.

    There is no indication of a forum in the app. The only symbols found in the "News" section lead to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, and Discord.
    There has never been any news whatsoever saying "check the forum for more information."
    A forum also dies when the responsible parties do not take care of it. There are so many pointless topics that were created, some of which didn't even receive any replies. Such useless threads could have been deleted to make the forum more organized. That is the simplest task for a forum operator.
    I cannot recall being informed about a forum during the initial installation of OSM.
    It was only through the managers I interacted with that I became aware of it.

    Absolutely zero events are created by your side here; there is nothing except the normal achievements within the app itself. Once you reach 100%, you have to take care of your own challenges.
    There has long been a feeling that there is no great interest in the players here. Simple inquiries are still processed, but more complex ones are dismissed by rigidly referring to the rules and standard procedures, sometimes even directly closed.
    Even if 1,000 players were to come forward with a problem, providing a plausible explanation, and you could verify everything and then make a decision for the community, you simply take out your rulebook, say "we don't do that," and then shut the door.

    You guys also show no commitment to engage with the community.
    The only events that take place are the repetitive in-game events that seem to be designed for us to spend BCs.

    I have never received an announcement in the app that would draw my attention to a truly interesting event in the forum. There has been no event where you have made a real effort to offer something to the community.
    You don't know what you could offer the community; ask them. There are plenty of players who would provide ideas for events and rewards. Many ideas have already been suggested in the past, so what happened to them?

    You have the product OSM, and that's it.
    From your perspective, I see no reason at the moment to operate a forum, except for support and FAQs.

    Don't take this personally, but that's just my perspective.
