Winners cup suggestion
-
Hello everyone,
Has the idea of queueing up together with your friends that also have a winners cup ticket ever been in equation?
I feel like what brings most people to OSM is the joy of playing with their friends/social groups, so I think that making it possible to play this competition with people you know of would increase the usage of it.
I figure it is an interesting concept to brainstorm about, even though it is not a group competition but an individual one, making it a risk for cheating between the people that would queue up together, such as:
-
Transfering players for cheap amount from one team to another when one of the teams gets eliminated (I feel like those incidents can be solved by a simple report of the situation, and/or also a warning before queueing up with people, saying that transfers between the members that are queueing up are extremely discouraged and can lead to a ban).
-
People can stack up training camps against the non-multiqueue players (but that can also be "countered" by either disabling training camps as a whole in the competition (I believe most BC are spent in scouting 100+ players+instant training in this competition) or disabling the usage of training camps if you queue with another person (I suggest limiting the queueing to 4 people)).
In terms of operationalizing the idea, I can tell that, for example, one of the matching up criterias is the squad value, so in order for this to work at an acceptable level, I suppose that there would have to be a limit (500M perhaps(?)) of different value between the squads that would queue up together so the matching algorithm would not break into pieces.
Feel free to discuss and add pros and cons of this idea, and let's refine it by doing so.
