Referees and their Effects
-
@datalcar I don't relate them directly. This is pretty much the same in real life football too. Referees do not hand out cards because of pressing. Pressing the opponent is completely legal way of forcing them to make mistakes. And more importantly, you don't even need to make contact with your opponent to press him. There are many ways to go about it, and a lot of them are contact free too. So a high press doesn't necessarily mean high flying tackles and stuff.
Pressing depends on how you approach a game, your way of playing, the way your opponent plays, who's gonna see more of the ball, etc. Let's just say your team is quite stronger than the opposition. It is highly likely that you enjoy the most of the possession. Pressing comes into play only when you don't have the ball. So in this case, a moderate press will be sufficient. But if your team is the weaker, especially the midfield, then you need the high press. You need to press the opponent into mistakes and win the back the ball. That's why high press is most suitable for good counter-attacking teams. And the referees don't really mind the high press as long as you keep the tackles clean. Guess this works the same in-game.

Maybe our new managers are interested on reading this topic...

yellow referee, normal tacking, 5 matches for trying to hit an opponent, its kind of frustrating.
and how it turns the match upside down, my rival did not take a shot until the red card, and i did not take a single shot in the entire second half, feels kind of exagerated.
first match of the league, what way to start... -
@youtube_nl SAID IN Normal just isn't normal.:
Hello
Playing with the tactic "Normal" just is NOT normal.
The amount of red cards received while playing normal is much more while playing aggressive.
This bug should be fixed. I have checked this for multiple seasons and very many games I get a red card while playing on normal, while on the other hand I usually receive less cards playing on aggressive. This should be fixed or either checked out, as this is not correct.

@YouTube_NL Good day Thomas ! Long time no see my friend, glad to have you around once again.
I had to move your post on this topic and I was hoping you could first have a look on the discussions that took place on the previous pages and posts here. After that if you wish to ask something about Refs , tackling etc we can talk again. Have a wonderful Sunday ! Big hug from sunny Greece ! -
Hello everybody! I thought of bringing up once again this very useful topic especially for our new comers on the OSM game or forums. Please have a look at the first pages to get a good idea about every type of Ref there is and their affects on our game.
CC : @GTCW1709 , @nikiub6080
After that if you want , feel free to discuss or ask your any questions about it.
Thanks guys! -
When should i play agressive in the game?!?
In the other day i played "normal" because the ref was in red, took a red card at the 4th minute.
Today the ref was in blue, so i played agressive, red card at the 3rd minute xD
Next time i played carefully with a ref in blue, maybe i can go to halftime with 11 players, who nowยดs... xD -
@Bino-de-Viseu I think it depends on luck to be honest I always use aggressive tackling no matter what an probably get a red card once or twice in say 20 games. I don't really look into who my ref is!
-
How can I play Normal and my opponent's play Aggressive with Strict referee and my player gets sent off and I lose the game. This is terrible, terrible simulation. OSM has to sort out the referees problem
-
@paramount-mjeku Hey mate, press is also a thing. You can play high tackle if you play with low press.
-
My pressure is always 65%
-
@VRSancheti_192 Also the reason referee sent my player off wasn't a tackle, but defying opponent's supporters. OSM has to fix this. Referees are ruining the game
-
@paramount-mjeku Mate, those reasons are just random.. Don't see for what reason your player got a card.. Just assume that they got it for tackle..
And you should not play that high press when playing normal against strict ref..

@menagerbl lol hopefull 5 years later the system got better
