Players sold at full price
-
This is brand new to me. I've been playing since the summer and managers generally sold players for 5-15 mil above player value. Only recently have I seen managers posting players at full price or 4x the value of that player. If that's just how the game is getting played maybe I was playing with conservative managers, who are also decent managers. Thank you for your time.

Maximum price that can be used to sell any player is x 2,5 times his starting price. But thats no news my friend.
Of course when we talk about big leagues and top squads of high goals or as the leagues progress and players's ratings go really high then ofc that means some of those players are getting high priced . In these cases we cannot always sell them at maximum prices . We have to adjust their selling prices to a reasonable amount. Follow the transfers prices to see what the game engine does with your league's transfers .P.S. I believe I owe you an apology . I'm afraid I used the wrong word when I wrote 'decent manager'. I'm so sorry my friend , it really came out very wrong . And you are very welcome. I left this topic open in purpose . So that you could get several opinions on this matter.

@supernova-8 I can't even sell my players worth 7,5M for 2.5 times their value at the moment. Is this a completely random process?
-
@jonas-bichara Yes, it's random. My advice is don't put the players at full price.
-
@jonas-bichara
I agree with the above....usually players sold at ( X 2 their value), much easier... -

Exactly. It is completely random. One day or two we may not sell not even a single player and next day we get to sell more than 4 , if we have more to sell in one day that is ( yes it is possible to sell more than 4 in one day depending on the league's TL activity ). Each manager has to decide on which price to sell a certain player. Personally I rarely sell a player for less than his maximum price but I play on small leagues. So when it comes to big leagues where the majority of managers build up fast and we get to have really expensive players on the TLs then of course it is wiser to take a good look at your league's transfers and see at what prices players tend to get sold or at what prices new ( OSM engine ) players enter and try to keep up with your market values and with sensible costs for your players on sale. Just like @DE-XRIST and @HakanSavun mentioned earlier.
-
No, it doesn't really matter whether it's x2 or x2,5 or x0,5. Only thing that matters is the exact price. A player worth 10m sells just as fast for 25m as a player who's actually worth 25m.
-
From my experience I can not for the life of me sell a player who's value is above 15m, had party 91 rated 18m value listed for 14 days if not more changed price multiple times to no avail as yet. The first 10-15 days of the season I was selling 4-6 players a day, get's stale near the end, 200Millions away from 1Billion, praying for extreme training on next weeks event, fingers crossed

That's why you don't sell them. If you keep changing the price, the game engine will restart counting the time the player is on the list, so you'll have to wait longer.
-
@choukou_nl I left 4 players for 5 days without a single a sale I don't think relisting them makes any difference, I've bought a player at 20.59 and re sold them at 21.03 I"m pretty sure it's just rng

I'm afraid there is nothing like restart counting because transfers are random.
Sometimes, some players don't even stay on the transfer list for 5 minutes before being bought by the engine. -

Exactly what i was referring to!

yeah,right

@choukou_nl are you sure about that? has a mod confirmed this?

As you can read for yourself no Mod has agreed on that so far. We repeatedly have said that transfers are made randomly by the game's engine.
But of course every manager has the right to his/ her own beliefs and strategies. -
Well... no haha
I always thought it was like that, but I'm not sure. Maybe it used to be like that in the old days and it's still in my head. I don't know, now I'm thinking of it, I presume it's totally random. -
@supernova-8
Hi I have a question on this old topic. Can you as a Mod confirm of deny if the player age has any influence on the selling chance? Will a 23 year old player that is listed for 14.5M be sold faster than a 35 year old player that is listed for 14.5M or do they have exactly the same selling chance? -
@koningco Hiya Paul!
Long time no hear mate. Good to see you on the forum.
My regards to the ToT !About your question... I can share with you my personal opinion about this matter, simply by using my common sense.
Facts about the transfers:
The computer or the Osm engine handles the transfers for each league and as we all know they are 100% random.
I can only guess that there is always a specific amount of players that move from Clubs to different Scouts and to different Transferlists nonstop via the Osm engine.
My second guess is that the majority of managers tend to buy or scout more often younger players instead of 30+ ones.
Now I know for sure two things. I usually tend to sell my oldest players during the preparation days or during the first rounds of each league cause I prefer to have a balanced squad with young players and some experienced but I never keep too many of old age like 30+ or 35+.
Unless of course one of my old players is a high rated football star, haha.
But in the end I can see that players of all ages are getting sold through the system , cause there is room and place for all the categories.Advantages of old players: They have a bit lower prices compared to youngers of the same power/rate. Plus we could also use them as Specialists for the role of the Captain.
Disadvantages : Their fitness drops faster compared to other younger players while playing round after round and possibly they could get injured more easily if we tend to play too aggressively. Plus, they get lousy results for each training session or a friendly !
For example , look at these results from my first friendly match. Look at what our dear Rooney got for improvement here... Ehhhhh...Like I said earlier... That's just my personal opinion about your question Paul.
What do you think about it ? -
Yes Sophia, it was already 4 years ago that I last played OSM. I had a great time in ToT. A lot has changed since that time. I guess player age doesn't influence the selling chance, but I am not sure because I haven't played for so long. Any other opinions are welcome in this topic.
Beside my question I don't think there is an relationship with which players
are bought or scouted in other leagues. My explanation for this is that goalkeepers seem to sell quite easy while not many managers need goalkeepers (you only need 2 GK's in your squad while you need at least 4 players in every other position). Also cheap players (below 2M market value) are easy to sell while nobody else want to buy/scout these players. Selling my attackers is the most difficult so far. -

In that case , welcome back to action Paul !
Age makes no difference but player's price does.
GKs are the cheapest players while FWs are the most expensive. So yeah , your post makes sense.
About the number of players that every squad requires : I'd say 4 is like you said the very least. Ideally we need 5 to 6 for each position to help us with their rotation, except for the GK.
For this position I try to have 3 GKs but the third one can be a very weak one.
I just prefer to be sure that if anything goes very wrong with one of my good GKs then I will be able to put him for sale immediately!
If I have only 2 GKs then game doesn't allow me to sell one of them.
