Excuse me for my english, but I'm rather old.
I received a mail in which I have been invitated to download an app or social media for continue to login to osm. I always use the system name and password, and I don't understand what are the problems about security. I use this system from 11 years. You can control all I have done in these years. If it will be impossible to connect with name and password, I will leave the game. For me it is not correct. Security of Italy? Of Europe? Of the people? It's only a game. -

The login method using username and password is going to be removed. There are a number of reasons for that and security is one of them. With security we mean the security of your account so that it is better protected.
There will be a number of other methods you can use to login to your account.
Webversion:
- a code via e-mail. If you have set an active e-mailadress to your account you will receive a code in an e-mail that you can use to login. Make sure you have acces to your e-mailadress if you want to use this option and set-up a different e-mailadress if neccesary.
- If you have an account on Facebook, you can connect your OSM account to your Facebook account to login through Facebook
OSM app on your phone or tablet (you can download the OSM app in the app store on iOS and Android):
- You can connect to your OSM account through your Google Play account or your Apple Game Center account
- If you have an account on Facebook, you can connect your OSM account to your Facebook account to login through Facebook

I don't want that my account will be protect. There are no raisons about security. It'only a game. I don't have social media and Facebook, and I don't want to login with a code by mail. The app is too strong for my phone. I want use name and password as I use from 11 years. Have I to go away and play with another game (with a lot of people)? Security from what? I'm a serious man, if you want much security you can use this new sistem with new coach. I don't accept this change
