Improvement of fair play

@roni-meda @MenagerBL @jeffro-davies @uchenna-a
Hello guys !
As you can see I have brought your posts in here in hope that we are going to have a constructive discussion and some good arguments on how to deal with cheaters on OSM. But at the same time I hope not to read again posts with nothing more to offer than accusations against Gamebasics or Admins because it is not helping at all and most important it does not make any sense. Everybody agrees that users who can only play against the OSM Terms is a pain for the rest of us decent managers and they give bad reputation to this game that we enjoy playing. -

@MenagerBL it’s not hard to spot them is it Nenad
since when does a league have 10 people in a 10 team league that all play on the PC and not on mobiles these days? Sure they would have the same IP Address so wouldn’t be hard to catch them and ban them if GB wanted too
Here you go again Goofy.
Talking about such a serious matter without thinking first of your thoughts and words... Ehhhh...
Do you honestly believe that if ( any of those Top 100 managers were cheating and got to be reported by other managers of the same leagues ) they had same IP then the OSM staff wouldn't have locked them ages ago?!
If any of them are indeed cheating then they are obviously smarter than that mate. -
When I had more time on my hands and when I played OSM more seriously I used to find those who use suspicious methods even being in top 10 of the world. Best case scenario I got after I reportd them was getting them suspended for like 3 or 6 months. After that period they could've used their brilliant methods back again.
Its sad but this current OSM ranking is favourable for those type of players as with all kinds of weird stuff they can easilly get into top 100 when back in the days you had to work your butt off to even get close to such an achievement.
-
@Majstor-Matt Ok Matty, I get your point. Although I know for a fact that loads of accounts have been locked permanently due to cheating. I must admit I have no idea how any of these illegal accounts/users can return back to action after few months. Would honestly like to hear/learn more about that ...
But once again you only made a statement here Matty and you are not suggesting any solution to this problem mate.
And it takes mostly old OSM fans and experienced managers to come up with some really good ideas on how to prevent cheating and improve the quality and fair play of this game. -
@SUPERNOVA-8 If It was up to me, anyone who would be caught with more than 2 suspicious accounts in league would be locked permanently and those IP adresses should be blocked forever for reaching site. (I'd tolerate if someone has more than 1 suspicious account becuase you can always have brother or someone like that in league, but if there would be too much other suspicious activity other than same IP adress then I'd ban those too)
But I know that that is not suitable and affordable for the game, because those cheats use massive amounts of boss coins most of the time.
How did they got back you ask Sof? Well they were not banned, they just got their accounts locked for 3 or 6 months. After that, they were free to play their style again. Thats the fact and I still have some of them added to my friends list as I like to see how they climb back up same style towards top 10.. Its funny seeing them struggling to get their precious points back after I got them locked.. or should I say, was funny, because most of them are back in top 100. ( I have 4 of them on my friends list, 2 are back in top 100)
But long gone are the days that I stopped tracking maangers like that.. I remember times when I used to enjoy their leagues and collect evidence... but long gone are the days when I had enough free time to do that
And nowadays most of them have locked leagues as well and Its funny how they manage to easilly always have full leagues completely when all mine that are open and free to join always have around 70% of managers in them...
Here is rare pic of one example of manager who got locked and then is slowly gathering points in"fair" way to get back onto his "deserved" top 100 spot.

@Majstor-Matt Ahahaha! Oh mate ... that picture ...

Hi Sophie. Agree. This should be a constructive discussion with some good arguments. Can you please explain me how some of these managers (cheaters) can be reported from other managers of the same league if all other accounts in the league are multi-accounts managed by the cheater? He will report himself?
I guarantee if guys who are responsible for cheat reports would take their time to check Top100 managers in detail they would find 10-20 cheaters easy, also with same IP's.
It seems like the IP adress is the main thing. That means if someone download or buy some VPN programm for changing IP adresses he can play free? What about other factors and rules? Here is rule number 8, one of basic OSM rules:
- Collaboration between managers in all leagues is prohibited at OSM. This includes the fixing of matches and the use of the transfers system to give one club an unfair advantage over another. Factors which will be considered such include, but are not be limited to: deliberately poor team line-ups; players deliberately lined up in the wrong positions; managers joining a league and then resigning after a few days with the deliberate intention of colluding with another manager; the specific use of Training Camps to affect or alter Results in order to gain an unfair advantage or to protect another manager.
118 scored goals in 14 matches? 8.42 goals per game. More than 8 gaols per match? That's not fixing matches? That's not giving advantage to one manager? I'm not in that league, but I guess the opponents must put some poor line-ups and tactics + players on wrong positions to concede 8+ goals each time.
All written in the rules. All guys who are responsible for cheat reports didn't started to play OSM yesterday. They are full of experience. They know what's going on after 2 mins. When you see such a league with such a goal difference, with no transfers in the league where a team with players rated 60-70 is scoring 8 goals each round and with 5-6 crazy results and 10 crazy tactics/lineup's each round, is it not enough evidences for you to suspend these managers?? They must not be suspended permanent. 60 days is ok. Put them on some list, give them another chance and follow their work after they come back. If they continue in the same way ban them permanent.
My opinion is that there are not enough guys interested to do this work, to check all managers in Top100. Also, I think that some guys protect managers from their communities and don't handle the cheat reports like they should really do.
If u need help about some suspicious accounts I can send u 10-15 links/names any time.

Hi Sophie. Agree. This should be a constructive discussion with some good arguments.Hi Nenad . Yeah, I hope for that mate but when I say arguments I don't mean aggressive posts or forum fights.
I'm asking you guys to share any useful and fresh ideas in here. Ok , so cheating sucks ! But of course! We all know and agree on that.
The question is : How do you ( and anybody else reading this topic ) think GameBasics can improve the system to prevent cheating or to catch those cheaters, in a way that there will be no doubts about it ?Can you please explain me how some of these managers (cheaters) can be reported from other managers of the same league if all other accounts in the league are multi-accounts managed by the cheater? He will report himself?
No Nenad , I'm sorry but I can't. Personally I have no idea how or why users cheat. Tbh, I have never thought about it. But if there is one thing I can tell you now is that whenever you guys are sure any user cheats and find out that Support Staff didn’t lock him up, then it’s because there were not strong enough evidences to help them nail the guy for good.
What about other factors and rules?Mate I don't even know what this VPN thing is !! Give me a break now , will ya ?
I don't know.
Do you know about these stuff ? If you are good with technology then maybe you will come up with a fine solution to this matter. My opinion is that there are not enough guys interested to do this work, to check all managers in Top100. Also, I think that some guys protect managers from their communities and don't handle the cheat reports like they should really do.
Here we go again... disrespectful accusations all over...
Come on Nenad , this is totally not the right way for a constructive discussion. Can't you see that ?
If u need help about some suspicious accounts I can send u 10-15 links/names any time.
Haha, that was funny.
I would definitely take your offer if I was a Staff Support. But I'm not. I'm just a Forum Mod and more of a manager just like you guys.
And I intend to remain just a Mod !

@SUPERNOVA-8 it happens, it’s obvious. As @Majstor-Matt has just said. He knows of 4 and he hasn’t looked for ages
My comment is not aimed at OSM forums moderators or admins, I don’t know who’s job it is if it is anyones? If you can’t report people that are not in your league these people will always go undetected.

You once again mentioned my name unjustly in a post because of an accusation that I didn't do. Your post showed that I was one of the managers that accused Gamebasics or Admins when I did not even mention Gamebasics or Admins? I was just talking about how it is hard to find leagues that are active for a while, and I didn't even mention Gambeasics or Admins in my sole post, and I get accused??? Don't understand to be honest why my name was mentioned again in this type of post. I am not purely mad, just annoyed that this has happened to me again, so I hope that you don't negatively mention my name in your posts for something I was not even talking about, it just seems like a false accusation for me.
-
@uchenna-a I had to move your post / reply to Jeff as part of a specific discussion about cheating. I had to tag your username as a way for you to notice that your post was moved from the Suggestions topic into this one here. That was all.
-
@SUPERNOVA-8 Okay thanks for clarifying things. All's good here
-
@uchenna-a Cool

Why’s Matts comments been removed?
-
@jeffro-davies They are not removed Jeff, his posts are on page 1 mate.

how to improve:
1. daily control of the top 100.
2. possibility to report a cheat from another league.
Only these two simple things are enough to stop cheaters -
Top 100 is not the big thing here. There are lots of users using a simple strategy to gain mp and we need a anti-cheat bot that will be automatic and running on a daily basis.
Doing this would be hard for any company and not in big interest to invest on it, I will not do such things.
What I will do 1st thing is removing top 100 based on country
-
@roni-meda But how exactly should the top 100 be controlled daily? It would be nice if you could expand on your suggestion 1. Personally, If I took OSM seriously enough and I was in the top 100 I would not like my profile to be checked every day. If it had to be checked often I would say maybe 2-4 times a month maybe.
Also, I would suggest removing the top 100 based on country, just like what was previously stated in the post before me. I don't think it is hugely necessary to know who is the best in just your single country in my opinion. If it had to be replaced maybe I would suggest a ranking based on continent instead of country. But honestly, I would rather just suggest top 100 based on country be removed than it being removed and replacing it with a top 100 based on continent. This suggestion is not a major suggestion for me, in fact it would not be a huge deal if it does not happen anyways, but I still suggest it because I think it would be good if it does happen.
