Hey everyone so I was quick selling 2 strikers when i noticed I couldn’t sell the second one because I had hit the minimum (I had 6 forwards) number of players for the position. The thing is that in a recent season I’ve had 5 and 4 forwards and I’m confused as hell. Was it a patch or do tactics change the minimum number of players per position?

Regardless of the chosen formation for the current line-up, the required number of player per position is always: three forwards, four midfielders, four defenders and two goalkeepers - and I think this goes like this for a long time now.

This is absolutely correct
@kane-mais10 The minimum number of players for that position is a situation where you can't add a player from that position to the transfer list or sell them because if that happens, you'll have less than the minimum amount of players for that position as stated on the previous post.
For example, you have six forwards in your team. Now the minimum amount of forwards you need to have in a team is 3, so that means you can put up to a maximum of 3 forwards on the transfer list.
With this scenario in place, you'll have certain restrictions with different transfer methods like say
- A manager makes an offer for your player that is not on the transfer list (will most likely not be possible), you won't be able to accept that offer.
- Same applies when you try to add another forward to the list or try to use instant sale.
Since if you eventually sell all your forwards on the transfer list (3) plus the one you received offer for, or try to add to the list or instant sale (1), equals 4, you'll have only two forwards left which is below the minimum number of forwards required to have in a team.
However, you can solve this by removing a forward from the transfer list or first buy a replacement for that position before you can proceed with adding a player to the list, accepting offers or using instant sale.
