Recomendations.

Good afternoon OSM team. First I want to tell you that Osm is my favorite game since I came across it in 2018, but I feel like the game is currently stagnant. It's always the same, you enter a league or tournament, you chip and sell, tactics, etc. That's why I come to make a recommendation that would make OSM more dynamic and entertaining.
-
Specific Instructions: I would love it if 1 player for each position could be given specific instructions, for example: Defense: Go up to the Corner, mark YOU for x player from the other team (it is not necessary to use personal marking), go on the counterattack (it is not necessary to play on the counterattack) Forward: Stay up, go down to defend (without it being necessary to change your style of play), and so on with all positions.
-
Schedule changes: Before a game, there is a section to be able to schedule 3 changes, select 3 players to leave and another 3 to enter and be able to choose the minute in which they leave. It would be great.
-
That the matches can be seen in another way, like a camera from the air, like in FIFA.
-
That there are robberies: This would add more tension and fun to the game, that out of 100 goals, 3 would be annulled due to a false offside, for example.
-
More play styles, improve overall tactics.
-
That the players complain to the referee so that there is a 40% chance that he will change his decision, or that he will give them a yellow card.
-
New achievements and trainer levels: Many trainers have already completed the achievements and are already level 10, adding more achievements and 2 more levels wouldn't hurt anyone.
-
Wasting time: Being able to give instructions before a game, that if the result favors them, being able to waste time. It seems very unfair, but they can also have the possibility of the opponent scoring a goal for altering their way of playing.
-
Artificial Intelligence: Nowadays it is very easy to access AI and I believe that the inclusion of this would improve the realism of the game, eliminate luck and the best person would always win.
I say goodbye and I hope you take into account some of the recommendations since I feel that the game is stagnant and boring at times. The updates have been the same for YEARS, improvements in the interface and aesthetics of the game, more modernism but it is always the same.
Bye bye.

i agree they should add more tactical options but eliminating luck is absurd, it wont make it more realistic when best teams always win.

Moved to OSM: The Game, as these are suggestions. Feel free to discuss.

@FC-Eddie_NL Will they take them into account?

Hi Leonardo! Thank you for your suggestions. I will pass them on to the product team. We highly appreciate your insights and ideas to improve the game. I personally like number 2 (substitutes), it is also highly requested. Number 3 (3D match experience) is also highly requested, but not feasible at the moment. Number 6 (fighting/discussing with the referee) is quite interesting and a bit similar to the tackling feature, where you have a clear trade-off when deciding to take more or less risk. Another idea would be to add the option to make dives to gain penalty or free kick opportunities to the tactics. Number 7 is about the training feature. We will already be testing with some changes on the training page (a new trainer and adding new types of boosts) soon, to make it less stagnant and more exciting. Number 8 (wasting time) is also quite cool, as an expansion on tactics.
I agree with Jiorji that we do not want to eliminate luck from the match engine. -

Hello Leonardo,
First of all, I totally agree with you! I'm also a passionate OSM player, not part of the OSM team, and I can definitely relate to what you're saying. The game has been fantastic, but I also feel that we're in 2024 now, and it's time for a significant update to bring some fresh excitement to OSM.
Your suggestions, like specific instructions for players, scheduled substitutions, and even seeing the matches from a different perspective, would definitely make the game more dynamic and engaging. I've also thought about how cool it would be to add more tactics, new achievements, and perhaps some AI-driven elements to make the gameplay more realistic and less dependent on luck.
We're definitely on the same page here. I think a major update could take OSM to the next level, making it even more enjoyable for all of us. Let’s hope the OSM team considers these ideas and brings us something big soon!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Best regards,

Some are really interesting suggestion, but for an online manager game I think substitutions and spreading the tactical options are the only viable options. Other ideas are cool, but kinda not doable for an online manager game where you are not playing the game in "real time" and its a simulation.
I kinda like the OSM as it is, simple yet complicated in its own way. I tried couple more similar games and not one has managed to keep my atention like this one did. So to me personally (and I know lots of people like me), more important part would be to try and keep active and competitive players playing.
Yeah I know those are minority, but they are longterm users. Some guy will see OSM Hall of Fame and spend 1000$ to enter it in a season, but that guy will not be playing the game anymore in 2 months as he will get bored of repetitive play. Thats why I would look into making official competitions run by the game owners (like we had good old OSM World Champioship coupleyears back).
I would also look into making crew competitions organized by the game, also giving crew chances to organize crew tournament "winners cup style" where 32 crew would sign up for a tourney and then played 3 battles in group stage and later continued in knockout.
When we are at crews, crew battle points ranking would be nice since the recent one with medals is a failure and atracts cheaters and bots playing empty leagues..
Anyway, I think competitivity is the key for the future if you want to hold on to active managers who would like to test their skills. Playing simple empty and boring leagues that are not filled with active managers gets repetitive and boring and players who play leagues like that do not play the game for more than a year or 2. Just look at hall of fame, havent checked lately, but couple months back top 100 was filled with people who left the game and are long gone managers who are not active anymore..
