Referees and their Effects

@joost-sœter_nl Thank you very much for your post mate!
Tbh , I was expecting more managers to join me on this very helpful topic & discussion , but... nobody seems to care?
So strange, cause I keep reading questions troubling the managers about Refs and tackling or pressure etc.Four (4) pages of valuable infos in here guys & gals !
-
Look at that guys! Even a Computer managed team got more yellows than I did.
-
@supernova-8 How many CPU teams are in your competition?
-
@joost-sœter_nl When I first joined this league there were 4 CPU ( aka computer managed ) teams. Following one resignation, at my finish line we had 5 out of 8 CPU clubs.
I'm not bragging about this league guys. Like I said, it was a minor league with very few real managed teams.
I'm trying to spice things up a little and start a creative chat in here about the 'special tactics' and formations that could be used according to the strictness of each Ref(eree).
-
@supernova-8 is there any significant change about pressure and actitude actually?

Hello David !
I'm sorry but I'm not sure what exactly you're asking me. Could you please explain to me your thoughts? -

This is what my Spy had to tell me about my opposition.
Now to continue and complete my case study , I took screen shots of my own line up and tactics 2 days ago in order to present them
in here with the hope it triggers a nice chat and exchange of opinions within our community. My line up on that match:
My tactics on that match:

So in a few words .. I was playing at my home vs a weaker CPU team , our Ref was a red one ( the worst Ref - strictest of them all ) and the CPU team decides to play with 451 CounterAttack, Man Marking , No Offside Trap and Normal tackling .
What do you have to say about this case study?
What are your thoughts guys?
I'm all ears ! -
Today's result, played away with careful strategy
-
@joost-sœter_nl You won !! Ah, I don't know your name. Well done! My congrats to you!
I hope this topic made you see things from a different point of view. How do you feel about this away victory? Wanna share any thoughts? -
@supernova-8 It really depends on for example your teamvalue and the tactic of your opponent. He played with normal strategy, but my team got a teamvalue of 1,3B.
Because my team is a lot better I can take the risk of playing carefull. In the more competitive leagues carefull isn't an option to play.
-
@joost-sœter_nl I respect your opinion and experience. If you feel this way you must have your reasons.
But I have taken place in the near past to much more competitive leagues and my strategy remained the same. No matter which team or line up has the upper hand, if the Ref is a red one I choose to go with Careful tackling. I leave all the red & yellow cards for my opposition. -
@supernova-8 And by more competitive you mean like Crew Cup or WCC?
-
@joost-sœter_nl I mean any small or bigger league that involved actual human managers for each club , who were experienced, great squad builders and creative tacticians. And yes I had been a Crew member in my past and had the pleasure of participating in both Crew Leagues and few Crew Battles ( dammit, sometimes I really miss the battles's thrilling adventures. ).
-
Does anybody else care to share personal experiences or thoughts about this matter?
-
@SUPERNOVA-8
I see you play quite careful when the referee is orange and red, there is a popular belief of playing aggressive and hard with a low pressure when is orange or red, what happens is that it is said that careful play does not bring good results when your opponent plays with a greater mentality. What do you think about that? Have you studied this comparison?

Every manager has the right to support his or her ideas right? I am confident about my choices concerning the Referees .
About the Pressure...If you use too high , like close to 100% all the time then your players lose fitness faster and then you have possibly more injuries. If you use too low Pressure then you might see your players missing a lot of scoring opportunities.
Maybe I am wrong but that's how I see things... -
@datalcar @SUPERNOVA-8 From what I've experienced in the game, pressure seems to affect fitness more than the player discipline. I used to play with a very high pressure when I started playing OSM. And there have been scenarios where my player got injured and his sub got injured too minutes after getting on So I just stick my pressure to 70 these days, unless I play defensive.

Does it mean that you do not relate the pressure to the referee's attitude? Why do they all relate it? How does this relationship influence?

Maybe I am wrong but that's how I see things...Will you have a high percentage of wins when playing carefully? How are your statistics when playing like that? really that is my fear of playing careful, that the opponent plays me aggressive and dominates the game for this. Imagine in a cup final!!
