    To be fair until the late 80's there used to be 3 European competitions as well.

    Europacup I for the national champions,
    Europacup II for the national cup winners
    and Europacup III for the 2nds, 3rds and sometimes 4ths from the national leagues.

    Looks like a nice format to me.

    No such thing. We have the game's simulation completed first and after that we get to view live our Match Experience.
